i wanted a perfect ending.  now i’ve learned  ,  the hard way  ,  that some poems don’t rhyme  ,  &  some stories don’t have a clear beginning  ,  middle  ,  &  end.  life is about not knowing  ,  having to change  ,  taking the moment  &  making the best of it  ,  without knowing what’s going to happen next.

It was always good to see a new face, especially on a slow night. Gabriel had already sent a few members of the staff home, which allowed him to personally interact with everyone who came in and this new face was no exception to that. He’s got one last drink to serve before he can greet the man properly, but after that he’s all smiles.

“Hey, welcome to Momentum. I’m Gabriel, I’ll be taking care of you tonight. What can I get’cha?”

      ❛ gabriel... ❜  it had been repeated slowly  ,  dragged out even  ,  to make sure it would have stuck.  golden eyes held a glow within them  &  his smile had only seemed to grow that little bit more.  friendly staff.  first good sign.  ❛ very nice place you have here  ,  sir.  i’m august  &  i was wondering if you had any...  german beers or anything  ? ❜

     bars were always somewhere the german had found himself  ,  given he’d worked in one back in new york  ,  and with a vacation to los angeles in place  ,  he was unable to resist checking a few out.  he had stumbled across one that seemed nicer than most  ,  and upon further inspection inside  ,  he had gotten the same vibe.  a small  ,  but warm smile had graced his lips as he took his place upon a bar stool right by the counter  ,  glancing up at the man who he assumed was serving.

     ❛ —— blue  ! ❜  his final few days in los angeles had went oddly  ,  with the hound in strict belief that he and cale wouldn’t have crossed paths again  ,  but it came as a nice surprise to catch sight of him.  he had all but jogged up to him  ,  the same warm smile across his lips  ,  and if he was in his altered form  ,  his tail would have been wagging wildly from excitement.

     ❛ this is going to sound really odd  ,  but has anyone ever told you that the little point in your ears is pretty cute  ?  i mean  ,  i don’t wanna be creepy  ,  i just noticed and —— ❜  at that point  ,  august had forced himself to be silent  ,  he knew he was rambling on and had possibly made the stranger more uncomfortable than needed.

“I hope so,” he commented, a hopeful look in his eyes. “I usually play a lot around here. Clubs, bars and, if I’m up early enough and if it’s nice, at the park too.” He really needs to start waking up early again. He missed playing outside.

“I haven’t had chinese food in such a long time,” he responded, stomach growling.

       ❛ oh  ,  really  ?  i’m not local at all  ,  otherwise i might have recognized you.  perhaps i will end up on another trip here  ,  when i get a vacation again  ,  i actually live in new york. ❜  but he had already enjoyed his time in los angeles  ,  even if limited and short.  cale only helped to make it that bit more memorable.

“I love playing music. Except for right now, I don’t think you’ll ever see me without my guitar,” he chuckled, feeling somewhat weird without his instrument. His stomach growled as if reminding him why he was here in the first place. He smiled once again at the other, accepting his offer.

“But now we go back to the question. What’s for dinner?”
