The hunt went wrong, it went fifty ways south of how the two of you had anticipated. My heart and head were at complete odds with one another. Guilt, shame, lust, want, everything was blended together. I couldn't pinpoint how I felt one minute from the next. "Spill. Right now. I'm not leaving until you do", Katherine demanded. I turned to her and could see her eyes soften at my appearance as she finally gave me a once over. Messy bun, baggy lounge pants, oversized shirt that was hanging off one shoulder.
"I just--I mean, I...we...", I stammered, twisting my fingers together as a wave of fresh tears filled my vision.
"You slept with Jensen, didn't you?", Katherine whispered in shock. I nodded feebly and she walked over to gather me in her arms. I gave her a watery chuckle and complied without complaint. Once I showered, dressed in tight leggings and a blue checkered flannel I felt slightly more human. I tossed my hair in a ponytail and made my way out to the living room. Katherine looked up from the magazine she was skimming through and smiled.
"There's my pretty gal. Let's go. We can grab a smoothie on the way from Martha's trailer", she said with a wink. I threw on my boots and slipped my phone into the breast pocket of my shirt and followed Katherine outside. I sighed heavily, my anxiety shimmering below the surface.

Katherine pulled us into the Directors office, slamming and locking the door before shutting all the blinds. A desk lamp turned on somewhere behind me, encasing us in a warm glow. The glass from all the picture frames that were adorned around the office glittered at us and Katherine sat down on the edge of the desk before turning to give me a concerned look.
"Don't, Kat. I know what you're going to tell me. I already made my choice...I can't stay here", I said softly, hugging my frame. I felt nauseous. Like my legs had been kicked out from under me at my declaration. Katherine sighed audibly before responding.
"Leaving wasn't what I thought you were going to end with, Y/N. I understand if that's what you feel like you need to do but running won't solve anything".
"Kat, what choice do I fucking have?! I've potentially destroyed a family and a man's acting career in the span of an hour! Tell me what other option I have?!", I shouted, spreading my arms wide as tears ran down my face in hot trails.

Rain hit my living room window in harsh splatters, water sloshing against the sill to pool on the grass below. Georgia storms were a bitch.
