Creating Consistent Content:
Alright so we all want to run that blog or the Youtube channel or even that Instagram feed, but, how do we do it? How is it possible to be successful and consistent?
Firstly, find your niche. Don’t force yourself to do everything at once. That never really works, rather, try to start in one area and then branch out. For example, if you want to start a Mukbang channel on Youtube, stick to Mukbang until you have your rhythm and following. Same goes for beauty, fashion, fitness and even the arts. Running a channel that does DIY’s, Fitness tutorials, comedy, rants, pranks, beauty, fashion, mukbang, talk shows, vlogs, music and motivation all at once is hard for you and confusing for the followers.
Remember, we subscribe to different people for different reasons. You do not have to do all the content possible, just do you.
Make sure your niche is something you love doing. If you are doing fitness videos and hate working out, chances are that you won’t get a following because people will pick up on that.
That being said, don’t be afraid to play around with different things until you find that niche. Many people are afraid to experiment or to step outside and do something different. Don’t let people dictate who you should be. Just figure out who you are.
Do not focus on the numbers. Don’t do things for the followers and the likes, do it for you. When you do what you love, it doesn’t matter if you’re Instafamous because you’re having a good time! Don’t allow yourself to believe that likes are more important.
Interact! If you have a following, find out what they want to see from you. It’s ok if you’ve run out of ideas. Just ask someone for an idea on what you should do and give them their due recognition for that idea. (Speaking of which, thanks to the Anon who told me to make this list)
Have a day that you decide to upload on and then expand on that after you’ve gotten into the habit of uploading. Don’t try to put too much on your plate at once because you’ll struggle and you might ultimately give up.
Don’t let watching people with huge followings and lots of support make you feel discouraged. Don’t be discouraged by how well someone else edits or does their makeup or by the price of their clothing they are wearing. Do you and realize that you aren’t them so you can’t bring their fire, but you can bring yours.
Improve, don’t give up. If you suck at editing or at taking great photos, work on it. Watch tutorials. Practice. Accept that you can’t start at pro level and then move on. Don’t give up and tell yourself that you’ll never make it.
Plan your content. The quality of a video, blog post or even Instagram photo is usually so much better when a little planning has been put into it. If you want to post an amazing picture, think about aesthetics, colors and poses beforehand. Have notes jotted down for your Youtube video. Have a list of points to cover in your blog post.
Everything takes a little bit of hard work and patience, so train yourself. Ensure that your followers can count on some sort of content regularly. Sit down for an hour and work on your stuff.
If you’re not feeling your content then go over why you’re posting it. Is it for you or your followers? If it’s for your followers do you actually like them or do you simply want to be adored by them? Maybe your motivation is wrong. Reevaluate.
Ask successful people questions. Do your research on how they became successful and incorporate those things in your blog. Little habits like regular uploads, using hashtags, creating unique content and being unproblematic can really give you exposure.
Be nice. Even if your following isn’t huge, having strangers support you, even if their numbers are 5 or 500 000, is an amazing feeling. If they reach out to you, respond appropriately. Too many people grow on social media and then think that’s reason enough for them to treat their fans like crap. We’re all people here and don’t ever forget that.
And again, IF YOU AREN’T ENJOYING YOUR CONTENT THEN YOU’RE DOING THE WRONG THING!
Here’s another repeat, DON’T FOCUS ON YOUR FOLLOWERS, FOCUS ON WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.
BE NICE. But also take no shit.
Last repeat:If you’re just starting, you won’t have everything down perfect. Accept that and try to grow from it. DON’T GIVE UP.
Note: I said that this isn’t about the followers and it really isn’t for many of us. I personally started my blog because I realized that I wanted to make some changes in my life this year and I also realized that I could help others do the same in theirs if they were looking for a chance to do that. My goal is a safe community for people to just grow and glow, inside and out, with me. That’s what makes me post every week. But, i included a lot about how I noticed I got followers because i have had many failed blogs and accounts and this one, the one i’ve been the most myself in, has not failed. It’s blossomed and I have a community of people who talk to me every week, asking questions, sharing their work and even just saying hi! I wouldn’t have that if I was trying to pretend that I was already perfect. You don’t need to pretend either. Just be your beautiful selves and good things will happen for you!
