So Sherlock,

As everyone expressed their opinions, I also have a couple of things to say:

First of all I am not ashamed to say that I liked season 4. Before anything else, I realised that I had missed Sherlock and John. The reason that many people didn’t like it was because it was unusual and so much different from the first season.

And difference is ok.

I always loved reading posts on tumblr and articles on websites after watching an episode because people would be making creative posts and discussing the details and  out and explaining every little thing. Reading these, I would be blown away by the amount of creative work and process that goes for an episode.

I don’t know if a 3 year gap between seasons has increased our expectations, created a very long amount of time where the actor’s acting changed and gave time for the writers the courage to try new things or even if 3 years alienated us to the show…But now it feels like everyone is just trashing the season, the plot or the characters.

This is not how we watch Sherlock. We need to calm down. We need to appreciate the almost movie-like episodes that took months to shoot and years to write, had amazing character developments, well-thought plot twists, details that connected to the first season and I am sure these required an excessive amount of energy and dedication, which I can say it had. 

It deserves to be praised and even though it looks like a final episode, when it comes to Sherlock, it’s never final. Even the writers said that they would really like to continue, it just needed time and the availability of the actors. That just means we are again gonna suffer a couple of years.

Which I’m sure we all want next seasons to happen and we will all be there when it happens. 

Here’s to calming down, appreciating Sherlock, and a badass season.
