This is the first time ive ever said this but I need assistance with Harry Potter trivia.

As we all know James and Lily died Oct 31 1981. BUT according to the first book Harry is taken to the Dursley’s “on the dull, grey Tuesday our story starts”.

Oct 31 1981 was a Saturday. So what the heck happened in those three days until that Tuesday??

Because in those three days Mcgonagal has still not found out that Lily and James are dead. Did it take people that long to find out they were dead? Was little infant Harry crying and starving in the house with his parents bodies for three days? Did Sirius take a babysitting break before he went to try and kill Peter?

The Wiki timeline says Harry arrives at the Dursley’s on Nov 1, but cites the fact that the book mentioned it was a Tuesday. What am I missing?

I have a lot of possible scenarios but no definitive answers. Halp pls
