Ladders are limiting. Jungle gyms offer more creative exploration. There are many ways to get to the top of a jungle gym. The ability to forge a unique path with occasional dips, detours and even dead ends presents a better chance for fulfillment.

Man Asks Why Women Donāt Shave Arms. I Explain
By Amy Dickinson
May 16, 2016
Dear Amy: Why donāt women typically remove the hair on their arms (elbow to wrist)? Not all women have hairy arms, but Iāve seen many women who have a decent amount of noticeable hair on their forearms.
Some women have dark hair on their arms, which is noticeable when wearing short sleeves. Even blond hair is very noticeable in the sunlight.
Iām just curious as to why women would shave their legs, but walk around with hairy arms. Iām not hating on it, Iām just curious.Ā
ā Curious Guy
Dear Curious: Maybe women donāt shave their forearms because they have to work an extra sixty days a year in order to earn the same pay as a man in the same job. That extra time spent trying to make a living cuts into a typical womanās primping time.
As much as women enjoy shaving their legs and under arms in order to look smooth and tidy (for men), there are just so many hours in a day, my friend. But thank you for noticing and scrutinizing our arm hair. Iām sure the women of the world are relieved youāre not a hater.
As a hairy-armed woman, I am intrigued by the idea, however. Maybe there are some men out there who would like to try out this trend. Iāll pull together a committee of women and weāll decide if itās attractive, without hating on it (of course).
lol. just lol at all of this.

If you want to spark your desire, try goofing off. Goofing off frees you. Goofing off lets you try new things. Goofing off leads to rediscovering childhood jubilation. Einstein goofed off at his job at the Bern patent office and dreamed up E = mc2. Hedy Lamarr goofed off during her glamorous-leading-lady acting jobs in Hollywood and invented a technology that became the backbone for today's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies. The deepest fun and the greatest achievements of mankind come when people aren't working.
Ask E. Jean
As I seek to find my voice and my footing in a not-so-new but not-old-either role at work - where I have a ton of autonomy and room to try things and freedom to fail without fear, but occasional anxiety about how to go about doing so - this advice hit the spot.
this is so me nd I hate it
but...is that for real how she laughs?
hey! would you mind sharing a little about your wedding music? what did you walk down the aisle to? first dance? father daughter? did you make a playlist for the dj or just let them do their thing?
Wow I am bad at responding to these in a timely manner.Ā
*One of my best friends and bridesmaids sang Blue Moon w/ her husband on guitar while my bridesmaids (all 10 of them - ya) walked down the aisle.Ā
*Then my mom walked me down the aisle to the song from Forrest Gump where the feather is floating through the air.Ā
*Husbo and I walked back down the aisle to James Brown - I Feel Good. Both of those were decided on basically the day before the wedding because nothing came to me/us before then.Ā
*For our first dance we did Lego House by Ed Sheeran which is a magical song. There was no father/daughter dance...another post for another time!
*Last but not least we came up with a playlist for the DJ and one of my lifeās greatest achievements was htat the dance floor was packed for almost the whole night.Ā
Thank you for the nice anon question! :)

i love hearing what people *almost* got named.
my mom almost named me Sheila.
I was almost Liam or Ewan but then my dad was like YOU GOT TO NAME OUR DAUGHTER ITāS MY TURN
I was going to be Andrew until I was born without a penis.
My mom wanted to name me either Marissa or April but my dad thankfully vetoed both and Jennifer was all they could agree on.
Iām also really grateful I wasnāt born a boy or she would have tried to call me Clay. Not even a dignified Clayton, but Clay. Dad probably would have vetoed that too though I imagine.Ā
Girl: Hannah or Paige Boy: Colin Iām not sure why they went with Shelby although itās clearly the winner.
Other girl names: Rachel, Sarah Boy name: Jason (I was also born on a Friday the 13th, wah wahhhhh) I really wish it had been Rachel.
I was almost Melissa, cause I guess the idea of NOT naming me after an Allman Brothers song never came up.
If Iād been a boy I would have been Nathan David, which I quite like. Nate!
My mom had boys names planned out immediately - Henry or Sam. Both fine, solid names that you canāt get mad about.
But then she found out she was having a girl and having no plan for that, named me after the first person she saw on TV that day, Meredith Baxter-Birney of Family Ties.
My parents didnāt find out whether they were having a boy or girl, so they had a boy name all picked out (Jonathan Grant, which I like!), but, as you know. They had toyed with the idea of naming me Amy (which I also like!) but ultimately settled on Valerie Lane (Valerie apropos of nothing and Lane because my momās middle name is Lanelle).Ā
My dad wanted to name me ROYAL if I was a boy. And not so I would be called āRoyā for short - just straight up ROYAL. This has perplexed me for decades.
