<a href=”http://thepersistence.bandcamp.com/album/persistence-2” data-mce-href=”http://thepersistence.bandcamp.com/album/persistence-2”>Persistence by Persistence</a>
Persistence is the South California shoegaze dúo formed by Vid & Jane. Crypted love melodies with a charming touch of sweetness in a EP on the line of bands like Devics and Suicide Sports Club.

The Little Flower Record Asylum
Its been a very productive week my friends. We didnt do much recording, but a lot of planning, preparation, and promotion(i swear the “p” is a coincidence). We released some music videos, one for “Do The Right Thing” and another for “What I Do I Do For Us” as well as several acoustic renditions of songs from our debut. We also put up a mastered version of our EP which is essentially just select completed songs from our upcoming debut. The 4-song EP is available for free stream and free download. We work so hard, its difficult to muster the energy to do something as petty as promoting. But thats what an independent band is all about, and so i ask you to please take a chance to help us out if you enjoy what we are doing. Simply downloading the EP would be enough for us but if you can find it in your all too massive heart to tell someone else to do the same, well youll be in my prayers(if i remember to do so anyway). I started working on a band bio because you cant sell your product unless you can sell your story. i tried to be as factual and sincere as possible but i couldnt avoid the corny pitfalls of literary cliches and cutesy vocabulary. I would appreciate any feedback i just did it today.
PERSISTENCE BIO:
Almost 6 years ago, Vid met his high school sweetheart, Jane. At that time, Vid was only a 15 year old songwriter with aspirations of one day forming a real band. Flash Forward to the end of 2010. Vid has put together a modest home studio, abandoned 2 separate album projects, and has decided to start fresh with a new batch of songs. ” I had always felt guilty spending time on music instead of with J, but one day it suddenly became so simple: we can be together all the time if we do this together.” A few months earlier, Jane & Vid had nothing to do and decided to try and write a song. Jane quickly came up with the melody and concept for “Just Do What You Want”, by the end of the day Jane had written her first song and Vid had found a stripped down sound which he could easily recreate in a live setting. Using this platform, Vid began writing songs specifically suited for only a two piece, guitar and drums, rock band. The first to be written and completed was “Somewhere In Someone’s Head”, which was also the only music video they made during that initial period when Jane had just started drumming.
It is now March 2012, Persistence has been recording their debut album for more than a year. Countless songs where recorded and demoed before settling on the initial 12,which has now grown to become 18 songs and brought forth the question of whether or not to release a double LP. They record everything themselves from their home studio and are planning on releasing the record, “Help Yourself” independently. Since their inception in 2010, Persistence has consistently given away their music, hoping it translates into more fans instead of revenue. With no motivation other than be consistent with their high- quality of music, the Persistence is a band on a mission. From who or what I don’t know.
