nelsonhoffman:
“I know. I know it isn’t good for me, but I just don’t have a choice, sir. It’s the best paying job I can get outside of my daycare gig. I still do great in school. i’ve been a straight A student my entire life, I’m working to be student president, I take all the AP courses I can. I’ll deal with the consequences on my health later. That’s not what’s important right now.”
“Your health is always important-- if you wear yourself out now it’ll be bad for you later on. I just worry about you as I do all my students. So if you need anything, don’t be afraid to talk to me about it, or anything.”
joshuaxtree:
“Hold on— Before anything else, I’m going to need you to say something in French.”
“What do you want me to say?” Dawson chuckled, used to being asked to say things in is native language.
nelsonhoffman:
”I’m aware of the illegality of my job. The owner and I are on very good terms about it. I want to work these hours. I need the money. It doesn’t bother me to work the amount of hours, or the specific hours, I do. I do what I have to do, and I’ve adjusted to it. My boss has never forced me to work these hours or penalized me if I had to leave early for school reasons. I promise it is all done consensually with my boss, my guardian and I.”“
“If everyone in your life is okay with it, I guess I can’t say much, though as a teacher I frown upon it. Those times are meant for sleeping because as a teenager you need all the sleep you can get. Your mind and body are still growing and night shifts are very damaging to people. Studies have been proven that working overnights can cut time off your life. It’s also very bad for you mentally.”
atticusyouout:
I’m sorry, but I don’t recall saying that I know who your father is. What I said was, I don’t actually care who he is. I don’t care that his profession makes him some sort of important person in the movie industry, nor do I care that you seem to be an entitled brat because of it. I don’t care who he is, and I most certainly don’t care who you are. So the next time you go spewing off to someone because you assume something, you may want to step on back and rethink it. In the end, it only made you look like a huge moron.
I’m sorry but-- this whole thing is moronic, you literally just said moments ago not to mention my father’s career if he’s well known. That speaks volumes to either you assumed something about what my father does, or already know. To which I cleared the air about. I’m also far from entitled, if I was entitled I wouldn’t of taken a job as a teacher. I happen to think I have a very humble upbringing. So stop assuming everything. I never once name dropped or eluded to anything other than my father would know some about the subject taking finding reality in fiction which you could find anywhere. He could of been a marine biologist, or even a professor who teaches media studies. Unless you already knew or assumed he was famous that’s on you. You’re the one being an asshole here. Not me.

nelsonhoffman:
“I should be alright. I just work an overnight shift so it’s going to be tricky. I’ll have to adjust my sleeping schedule and possibly lose a few hours. But it’s just for one more year, I’ll be fine. “
“I’m certain whatever job has you working thirds is doing so illegally. If you’re still under eighteen and in school, they aren’t allowed to do that,” Dawson stated, worry in his voice.
lilbennyrose:
“A little,” he confessed, voice going to a near whisper. “And I can’t imagine anyone complaining. Begging, maybe. But no complaints. I’ll happily try out your baguette tonight.” The pun was getting lewd now and he smiled at the clear signs of Dawson’s arousal, the dark hooded look giving him away. “What could I possibly have taught you?” he questioned, allowing the older to stop his hand, closing the distance between them. At six foot, the other made even gangly Bennett feel short and, truthfully, he kind of enjoyed it. “That’s what I thought. I have good reviews on grindr to prove that statement.” He was teasing but it was only half hearted, teeth clamping down on his lower lip.
“Do you wish me to stop?” He hummed softly. “Good to know, though, I do not pride myself on being able to please you, no complaints is a good thing to hear,” he chuckled softly ducking his head down. “Maybe after the princess is asleep?” He offered, slowly raising his head, eyes meeting Bennett’s. “Where to nibble to make you moan, among other things,” Dawson grinned slightly, tracing his thumb over the younger male’s hip. “Grindr has all it’s priorities straight,” Dawson teased back, slowly releasing Bennett’s hands so he could finish what he started with his shirt. “Though,” he hummed burying his face in Bennett’s neck. “The first thing I noticed the night at the bar was your dimples,” he muttered softly.
edwestons:
“Ah, most people understand the ex thing, it’s normal for it all to happen, of course,” he shrugged. “Ah, sixteen! That’s very sweet, though - that you care for her so much. Siblings have to stick together. My brother and I are only three years apart, but he’s older - twenty-seven this year.”
“I sure as hope not a lot of people understand the ex thing, I don’t wish that on anyone,” Dawson admitted. “Sweet Sixteen, is a term I haven’t understood yet, Bella is sweet but she’s also testing my patience as of late. I do-- her and my mom, they’re the two most important people in my life. That must be nice though-- having ages that close, a constant play mate.”
atticusyouout:
If that was you expecting me to ask about your father’s line of work, I’m about to disappoint you. I’m not one to tolerate people that name drop their own parents. If you wouldn’t mention your father’s career if he were someone that did yard work for a living, don’t mention your father’s career if he happens to be well-known.
If I was going to name drop I’d actually say a name, not just say my father sees it often. Which further more upsides the creepy factor if you know who I am because of my father. I don’t normally talk about him, or even state his name, ever, for all you know he could be a marine biologist. So with your reaction only states either this town now knows who my father is or you figured it out some how-- because both of my parents made sure my sister and I weren’t in the media as much as possible for this reason among others. So he may be well known, but I on the other hand am not, and I’d like to keep it that way for my sister’s sake and my own.
edwestons:
“I imagine that all went well, though. Ah, it’s really no bother. That’s all in the past now, and I’m happy with how everything has ended up - especially everything in Brookfield. How old is she exactly? My brother is only a few years older than I am, so I’m glad about that. It makes us closer.”
“No-- we were butting head’s constantly. The past is good place to keep things like that, I understand the ex thing. Brookfield is a good place too be. Arabella is sixteen, the hard age. I sort of wish we weren’t nine years apart, but at the same time I never loved someone as much as her, even if she’s a pain.”
atticusyouout:
Sharks don’t attack people on purpose. Sharks attack people that they mistake for seals or oftentimes larger fish. It’s not based off of reality.
The fear around sharks is what reality the movie shows, not actuality with how sharks really are. Which is saddening, a lot of sharks are killed over such thinking. People sometimes don’t know how take reality and a fictional story and see the differences. I’ve seen it many times with my dad’s line of work.
lilbennyrose:
“Okay,” Bennett agreed a bit breathlessly, smile deepening. His flush only grew worse as Dawson went on. “I think you pretty certainly keep me moaning so I cannot complain. Maybe I’ll be in the mood for your baguette a bit later at night.” Noting the shift in Dawson’s line of sight, Bennett let his tongue swipe slowly across his lips, breath hitching at the hand on his hip. “I think you could teach me a lot of things. Wouldn’t you say?” His fingertip lightly brushed the edge of the button, gaze dropping to focus on his ‘work’ with a coy smile. “I bet you the boy next door wouldn’t have a dimple as pretty as mine,” he hummed, working the button out of its loop and taking a step closer. “And his bum definitely wouldn’t be as cute as mine, hm?”
“Am I making you squirm,” he mused, a soft chuckle leaving his lips as his blush only grew with Bennett’s as they continued their banter. “I rather there not be complaints, I’m happy that I can keep you satisfied at any rate. My baguette’s can’t wait for tonight then,” he jested, watching Bennett’s tongue dart across his lips, a soft hum of approval leaving his lips. “I think so, yes, but you’ve also taught me some things as well,” Dawson shifted at Bennett’s gaze fell downwards, his teeth gripping his own lip to contain any sound failing miserably at the soft sigh. “No, those dimples are pretty specially I would say,” Dawson’s hands darted up to catch Bennett’s as his fingers worked his button free, keeping them close as he stepped forward, grinning knowingly. “His bum-- no certainly not, that wouldn’t do at all. You’ve got the cutest bum around town.”
edwestons:
“I’ve been lucky to work with people I mostly get along with, and I hope it continues to be that way. Oh, lied to my ex-fiancee. She wasn’t a very good teacher, and I do hope she quit when we broke up, for the sake of her students. My brother lived with me for a while, but he’s off traveling the world again now. The only teenage sibling I’ve had to deal with was him when we were younger.”
“I’ve had one person when I was a teacher’s aid that wasn’t a decent teacher but my grade depended on working with her. That sounds horrendous, I’m sorry you had to be with someone you didn’t get on with. I have no idea if the age gap would be good or bad for Arabella and I, she’s mostly testing my buttons at this point on how far she can take her teenage rebellion too.”
lilbennyrose:
“Do you think you’ll still be interested in seeing me like that in five months?” he quipped, arching a brow in question. “Anything? Good answer, good answer. You really can’t get it right but that doesn’t mean I want your baguettes and… french toast.” Bennett’s eyes followed the movement as Dawson stepped closer, head leaning back to hold eye contact. “You were one of them then, yes. More so now though. You’d be my most favourite now.” His cheeks colored in a flush, hand lifting to toy with the button of Dawson’s shirt. “Possible cutest? Who’s cuter than me?”
“We’ll see what happens in the next five months, most certainly as of right now, yes,” he smirked at his raised eyebrow. “If it keeps you happy it’s always the right answer-- if it keeps you moaning I’m certain I’ve done everything right. Such a shame, I make a mean baguette,” Dawson’s eyes stayed on Bennett’s as his head tilted back, his hand slowly moving to rest at his hip. “What do I have to teach you now that qualifies me as being the most favorite?” Dawson’s own cheeks heated slightly at Bennett’s proximity, eyes slowly darting down to his hands. “Well, you see-- I had this whole elaborate story of the boy next door, but even in my wild imagination he fails at being as cute as you,” Dawson spoke easily.
edwestons:
“There are always crappy teachers, I’ve known one myself - she was a double whammy - bad teacher and bad person. Though I may have lied and said she was good. Ah, you and me both. The students and my puppy, of course.”
“I’ve known a few that I’ve worked with, they are very hard to get a long with. Lied too whom? The students and my sister, Arabella lives with me though so it’s hard not to find her much like my child sometimes, especially when I tell her to pick up her stuff. The trials of having a teenager under the same roof as you.”
