What I could be

If I wasn’t half an hour late

If I could regurgitate the thoughts that I digest

If listening to this song didn’t make me think of him, and her, and them, and what happened, and what never did happen

If my brain led my body and not some faulty version of my heart

If I created based on a steady tempo and not 24 hours of robato

What I could be if I wasn’t half an hour late

What I tell myself is always the same

“Will I take my own personal bait?”

Or just swim away

My heart’s too adamant to disappear

In something that you call “the fears”

But I call it rambling

Why do I feel more confident when I’m all crusty in bathroom lighting with eye bags late at night than I do in good lighting and put together, lol

So for every tear
