ya know what? opening with dialogue is peak. shoutout to all the wonderful writers on this planet who start their pieces with some good ol’ quotation marks.
At times, she questions the wisdom of her heart, that reckless cathedral forever flinging its doors wide in a storm ~
What is the use of loving with a tidal force in a world content to paddle along the shoreline?
She walks among the shallow waders, their laughter thin as mist, their promises skimming the surface like stones afraid to sink. They speak of affection as though it were a pastime, something to be tried on and set aside ~ she cannot.
She was not fashioned to wade among the shallows ~ there is a wildness in her longing, a moorland wind that will not be gentled.
She craves a love that bruises the sky with its intensity ~ that does not barter honesty for comfort, nor dilute truth for the sake of ease.
She yearns for a bond where trust is not fragile glass but forged iron, where surrender is not weakness but a sacred exchange of power.
To love hard is to risk ruin...
To be open is to stand unshielded beneath thunder...
Yet still she does it.
She offers her heart like a lantern in the dark, daring someone brave enough to meet her in the depths.
For she knows the truth ~ the sea does not apologize for its depth, nor the storm for its fury.
And somewhere beyond the timid shores, there exists a soul who does not fear drowning, but longs to be consumed by the same fierce, ungovernable tide.
