Assad Zaman as Celebrimbor from JRR Tolkien's The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales
This is nonsense. Many people, many women, are happy and choose not to have children just because they do not want to for one reason or another. This idea that people (women) all want to have children is so normative and untrue. Also: what biologist said that about badly abusing mammals to the point they stop reproducing? It’s a bad comparison to humans not having children. Other mammals reproduce because they mate. They don’t use birth control. Who knows if their urge is for reproducing or mating? Probably for mating if you ask me and then the reproduction happens automatically. Humans also mate. Humans have a unique choice to reproduce or not. Birth control is so so new. Up until the 50s condoms were rare and were viewed by polite society as something dirty. The pill was invented in the 60s. Time has only shifted a couple decades. The CHOICE to become a mother or not is slowly slowly becoming more accepted. There is still some social pressure but thankfully, more women can decide for themselves. Maybe humans don’t all have an urge to reproduce. Maybe humans just have a sex drive and social conditioning and reproduction is a want for some and we are now finding out not for all.
