Wanted To Be The Hero | Belle&Hook |
"It suits you, love," he told her smiling back. "That is an interesting book you’re reading." He looked around, in the far corner of the tavern, there was an empty corner booth. He began to speak in a soft tone, "Belle, watch me and then in a couple of minutes follow me over." He ordered a rum from the bar and went to sit down in the corner, doing his best to keep her in his sights.
The group in the bar were mostly men of his crew, littered with a few of the prostitutes from the main street, trying to earn some coin off some lonely pirates. Mr Smee was standing on a bar stool trying to start a group shanty. Killian took a swig of his rum and waited for Belle to join him.
"T-Thank you." she smiled again, squeezing her book more against her chest as he mentioned it. "...It's just some stories." she answered, before turning to see where he was looking before nodding her head and watching as he walked.
Belle waited a couple of moments, she could run - just leave the tavern, but he would end up following her or something, she couldn't risk something like that. She brought up her strength and slowly began to make her way over and sat down with him.
00:00:00 { because why not? XD ; }
It was supposed to be a normal day - no tragedy, no drama or issue. It was supposed to be. He hadn’t expected it to be so…soon.Often enough - Jefferson would get an itch on his wrist - prompting him to check the number, however this time there was no itch, no bothersome way to remind him to just…simply glance down at it, instead — in the presence of the brunette, her hair shining perfectly in the light- he nearly had forgotten. That was it — the moment had come, and in the fleeting chance, he had nearly missed it. 00:00:00 ”I——” how did one make such a declaration, should he have hidden it in fear? Would he be pushed away? “I’m sorry I just…” Awkwardly, he had no idea what to say.
Belle had being worried all day, keeping her eyes on her wrist, the numbers slowly counting down. She had been wandering around nearly all day - scared to who she was going to walk into.
This was the moment, the numbers had finally reached 00:00:00, as she slowly looked up there he was, the man that saved her from that horrible cold place.
"J-Jefferson?" she muttered,. "You d-don't need to apologize." she added,
Still confused at the fact that he was his soul-mate. She took a deep breath as she twiddled with her fingers, unsure on what to say.
"I... I..." she stuttered.
{ mad rage and viciously attacks ; } "R-Rumple..." she shock in fear, taking a small step back. Her bottom lip trembling. Too scared to say anything else, she just watched him. Hoping he wouldn't try anything else.
' Belle, look, I — ’ he has no excuse for his actions, and the feeling that scratches at his heart becomes ever present - eyebrows arch and that pleading look in his eyes returns. ' You have to believe me I didn’t mean for … ’ he trails off, only because he starts to believe his own lies.
Belle was still shaking in fear, not sure what to say. "...I thought you changed.." she muttered. "I was hoping you had changed." she added, taking another small step back. What else was she meant to say, she had no idea how to react to something like this.
“Well, then.” Her bow is pulled from her back, and she nocks an arrow, “We’ve got to be quick, before it gets dark.”
Ellie turns back whence she came, to the warren that has become her recent supply of meat. She does not feel happy with hunting the animals, especially as they never see it coming, they never seem to learn.
But it must be done.
”Quickly. It’s this way.”
Belle gulped as she watched her pull out the bow, but she nodded her head and began to follow where she was going. Her eyes glancing around while they walked, trying to make sense of this world.
"...Thank you... Thank you for helping me."
Wanted To Be The Hero | Belle&Hook |
Killian stepped onto the dock of the town, his ship had never seen this part of the world before. He was a sea dog by trade, but now and then it was nice to set foot on dry land. It was also nice to get to a new town and see what the locals had to offer. Trading seemed strong in this town, fabrics, rum, even women were being pushed and peddled by people in the markets.
He walked the streets, the scent of animals and waste filled the air. The locals were busy and impolite, though that may have been the fact that he was a pirate. He walked down a street, it appeared to be the main street and was littered with tramps and prostitutes.
As his feet marked the ground where his crew had obviously already been, he heard his First Mate, Mr Smee, causing a ruckus in the Tavern. While Killian himself wasn’t really a ‘ruckus’ kind of pirate, he knew it was the best way to recruit some new shipmates. So with a deep breath he put on his best drunken pirate facade and walked into the tavern.
The inside was louder than he had anticipated, he had met his darling Milah in a very similar Tavern. The memory flooded back of the loss and he had to kick a table to bring himself back into reality. He started looking around the tavern for potential recruits, they were always the same; ugly beefy men who would just as quickly smash a bottle over your head for some coin. When suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, a small brunette collided with his side, dropping what she was carrying. She apologised and began to duck down. Hook crouched and grabbed a book that she had been reading, flicking through the pages. Could this be a new direction with his crew? He had brawn out the backside but so few of his crew had the common sense or brains to survive very long.
"Aye, you should be watching love, still no harm done."
The pirate stood back up helping her with her things, revealing his hook to her for the first time.
"Killian," he spoke, kissing her hand, "Killian Jones, but to my crew and most who know me, I’m known as Captain Hook." A grin found its way upon his face.
Belle kept her eyes on him, watching as he picked up her book, she slowly stood back up - hoping to receive her book back. She was half way through the stories about this beast that lives out in the wilderness, a beast where it's reward was quite a lot of money, enough money for Belle to finally start a life by herself.
She took her book back, only to notice the hook instead of a hand, her eyes widen as she looked at it. She wasn't too sure what to say about it, should she mentioned it? or just forget it was even there. Her eyes flashed down to her hand, the pirate's lips softly pressed against it.
"I-It's a pleasure..." she muttered. Still terrified to say anything to the pirate - since he was a pirate. She didn't want to do something stupid and get herself killed. Her eyes looked back at his hook as soon as he mentioned his other name.
"I'm...Belle." she introduced herself as she held her book against her chest, giving him a small smile.
"Well I’m not sure love. I heard this was the place I could find books, but you see I’m looking for a specific book. I was told that there was a book, Peter something, and I am in it. Could you help me find it?"
"Oh - I guess you are looking for Peter Pan. Those stories are a classic."
Belle smiled as she walked over to one of the bookshelves.
"It's just around here."
She’s beginning to grow more and more tired, and the little rabbits at her belt are beginning to weight heavily. Every creature’s innocent in this world; Ellie doesn’t even hate spiders anymore because they’re nicer than any human she’s met within the town.
”So, you can’t hunt. Alright.
“Why…” She closes her eyes, worried she might regret her next sentence, “Why don’t I get you your dinner? Yeah? Show you how to? It’s all you’re going to get.”
"No I can't hunt - I have no survival skills. Well saying that, I can read other languages, navigate and track things down - but that's mostly it, none of the hunting stuff."
"Your going to show me how to hunt? W-Well... Uh... Thank you..."
A roll of her eyes, Ellie turns back on her heels, “Sure. Go to the town. Get your face eaten off by an infected or worse. See how that works out for you.”
“Trust me. You’re better off out here. Just… try not to freeze to death.
“I’ve got nothing for you.”
Except shelter, food, and the prospect of a half-warm fire, but Ellie won’t offer that. Not to someone she does not know, cannot trust. The place in which she finds herself now is not permanent by any means, but it’s as close to a home as she has for the time being. And she won’t chance it; not without reason.
"I'd be better off dead anyway - There is no way I can survive in a world like this. This isn't my world - I know nothing of this land - I can't kill innocent creatures, I can't survive in the woods."
Belle sighed, as she tried to hold back the tears, she would rather be locked away in a cell back in her own realm than in this world.
“Oh… The Enchanted Forest?
“Crazy town.” That might be a tad harsh, Ellie knows that.
”Okay, I’m sorry you’re lost and all, but I can’t help you. Really, I can’t.” A sigh, “I’ve got my own problems to worry about. The best I can do is tell you to get out of sight. Find a place, bunker down; don’t let a single fucker in, don’t go too close to the town.”
She turns now, somewhat hesitantly, “And please don’t follow me.”
"I'm not crazy - I'm telling you the truth."
Belle fought back, not wanting to be the random crazy girl in the woods. She just wanted to go home.
"The town? Won't there be people that will help me? I can't survive out here by myself."
”I can’t help you with that. What do you want me to do?” Ellie’s somewhat defensive, and nervous. This woman’s strange; compared to the loneliness that Ellie’s used to, anyway. The girl rubs her nose.
”Look, I don’t know where you think you came from, but it’s not here.
“You’ve just… you’ve got to deal with it.”
"You know this land no doubt - you must now a way to cross between the realms."
Belle spoke as if the girl infront of her believed every word she was saying and knowing, but this was no longer the Enchanted Forest and she probably didn't understand what she was talking about.
"I'm from another realm - the Enchanted Forest."
Send your muse's reaction to finding mine passed out on the floor
“A fucked up one.
”Wasn’t it obvious?”
”To be honest, I don’t need you crying ‘round me. It’s a good way to get yourself killed. Best to rethink that strategy, it’s stupid.” Ellie hasn’t cried since losing Joel, and she won’t cry again, she’s promised herself that.
She could just leave; let Belle fend for herself. She could just go…
"I... I don't want to be here, I can't do stuff like this" she ran her hand through her hair, shaking a little, she just wanted to go home.
Rumple would be worried sick about her - and its almost impossible to travel between realms. "I need to go home... Rumple will be worried - He'll think I've left him."
“Whatever you say.”
Now’s not the time for childish stupidities. Ellie knows that; it’s never the time. Not anymore. Times were once, that she’d play chase and read stories by flashlight at night; comic books and fairytales. Not now. Not now.
“Yeah. After they fuck with your head, they eat you. It’s just what they do. Stupid bastards can’t think of anything better, I guess.
“——I’m not giving you my name.”
"What kind of world is this? I don't belong here - I belong back at the palace... Well I'm Belle. Nice to meet you - I don't need your name, I just want to know how to get home."
; finding it so hard to type since my dog decided to lay on my arm - so slow replies xD
”Rumple—?
”Right…”
Whitefish Lake is full of weirdos, apparently. Or at least, that’s all Ellie can figure, anyway. As strange as she might be, the girl’s sure she’s the only sane person left in the country.
”Yeah. People will do that.
”And then they’ll eat you.
”Don’t feel so bad for the rabbits now, huh?”
"You don't believe me do you? Well it's the truth." "They... They eat you." Belle was able to speak out, her eyes widening, "W-What kind of place is this? and who are you?"
