Feeling like he did a good job on the Whac a Mole, Aster took Adam’s advice and took himself on a wander around the carnival. He still felt slightly overwhelmed, there was a lot happening, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t appreciate it all or marvel at the spectacle. Seeing the shadow at his feet, he look up to see the Ferris Wheel rising above him, he always forgot how big they were in person, as he was so used to only seeing them from far away. He wondered if he should ride it, or if it was weird to do that by yourself, when he thought he heard his name. Which was impossible, cause he’d only introduced himself to like five people and none of them would be calling out to him. Then he turned his head, and if it wasn’t for the rate he propelled himself forward his legs would have buckled from under him. “Luke,” he stood in front of him, scared that he wasn’t real, “Luke you’re alive.”
Words were stuck in his throat, body frozen in place. It was... a miracle. Either that, or he was dreaming. Or someone was playing a cruel trick on him. But for this one time, he wanted to believe he was there. For real, this time. “Could say the same about you.” The words left his lips in a small voice, shaky. He never thought he would see him again, or at least, not alive. Not after he saw sentinels right outside of their house. But the longer he stared at him, the longer it became evident to Luke that he was real, and not a hallucination. Still, just to be sure, he managed to move his body to do the only thing he could think of doing, and pulled his brother into a hug.
