no matter which way you spin it, in canon, the entire premise of an el*cien endgame stems from elain saying “no, i do not want him” repeatedly just to end up with him anyways.

so yeah, forgive a girl for finding that entire concept incredibly demeaning, gross, and a terrible message to all women.

and forgive us for side-eyeing you for finding it romantic.

I am pretty sure that Lucien described his ideal woman and that was the fiery Jesminda who challenged him and was exciting and feisty.

And who is similar to her? Oh yes, not Elain. Vassa. Vassa, the bird of flame is similar to the Lord of Fire.

And Elain's ideal man? Someone like Azriel, to whom she'd cling for some peace and quiet.

Who gives Azriel headaches? Mor, Cassian, Rhys, Amren...

Who does he want to sit with alone, in peace and quiet, going over gardening plans? Elain.

No, Lucien and Elain aren't compatible, but they are both magically powerful. The Cauldron took notice of that.

I keep seeing tiktoks of hate towards Feyre.

Hear me out, i agree that what she did towards spring court was not okay, people hating how she approached it is valid, but also her revenge and biting back was valid for her own story and logic.

Now what i am not okay with is people bashing and hating Feyre for what she did to Lucian and Tamlin.

You can dislike a character, but it's so wrong to hate and demand for Feyre, a human turned fae, who is barely stepping into the long life, to BE the Bigger person in the story.

People expected her to understand Tamlin's and Lucien's decisions, two faes who lived for hundreds of years, because of their traumas and somehow, forgive, forget, brush over how she is treated and find a way in herself to swallow and to ACCOMMODATE them?!

It's 2026, what in the internalized misoginy am i reading. What would be the justification for her to accept and do that beside being the woman in that context?

I am so excited for the next books, and cause all the theories start to be brought again into discussions as we all become excited to fall back into the ACOTAR story i have this thought for Elain (i will come back to this post when i am done reading, even if right or wrong)

She is usually linked to sun. (Lighting the place, being like the sun at dawn, needing sunshine, etc.)

Nature does need the sun to grow, and she is also bringing the same care and maintains the gardens.

A good opposition to Nesta's Silver cold Flames and Death being Elain's Red warm Flames and Life.

Nature chose Lucien as her mate. Cause logically, strong offspring would come from an heir of the Day Court and an embodiment of Sun Fire.

Elain being an anagram of Aelin.

Now with these points out from my head I want to remind that as the sun is needed for life to grow, the sun can also burn everything in its place.

My lovely headcanon:

Elain brings out of her that feminine rage she caged for who knows how long, and burns to the ground any who dares to hurt those she loves and cares.

Until the book is out i will live in this delusion but oh how much i would love to see it unleashed in books. Surprise me Sarah, i can't wait to see what she put on paper for our lovely Elain 🌸

The Foreshadowing is Loud:

In ACOSF, Nesta is startled because she didn't hear Elain approach at all. Her immediate thought: "Is Azriel training her? Or are Nuala and Cerridwen?"

Feyre explicitly tells Azriel that Elain is better at secret-keeping than him.

Elain gifting Azriel headache powder implies she notices things others don't.

The literal "stepping out of a shadow" to kill the King of Hybern.

Azriel hides behind silence. He always has. He made his pain into discipline, wrapped his shame in shadows and pressed his longing into the quiet, calling it control. He is the master of vanishing of pretending the pain doesn't exist if he doesn't look at it. But then there's Elain. Soft voiced, doe eyed Elain, who lived in silence too not because it protects her, but because no one ever thought to listen. She doesn't flinch from the quiet like others do. She makes it gentle, makes it safe. Because she knows silence can hold whole truths without ever needing a sound. And that's how she reads him. Not by asking ,not by demanding. Just by being... Present ,Warm like the sun.

She notices the way his hand flexes when it brushes hers. She hears the shift in his breath when he's holding back. She notices when his shadows vanish around her, how his voice softens when he talks to her. She knows when he's hiding pain behind a calm voice, and she doesn't need to hear the whole story to understand his heart.

She sees him ,not as the Spymaster but as a male aching to be known without having to explain himself, and for the first time, he lets himself be seen.

Because she doesn't try to pull the truth from him. She just offers a quiet place that makes him feel safe enough to want to share it. And he realizes, She is fluent in the language he's spent his whole life hiding in. And maybe without ever meaning to, she gave him what he didn't know he was longing for ;the permission to be just himself ,Azriel.

So in regards to the quote Sarah signed on the giant ACOTAR book, here is some context for that quote;

A line that signifies a shift in personality, in particular the shedding of Feyre’s human persona in favor of her new stronger abilities as Fae.

Interestingly we also get a quote about Nesta that similarly relates her to a wolf:

Nesta never belonged among the humans, always too wild and destined for something greater.

It appears that the author is very fond of associating the Archeron sisters with wolf imagery. And then of course we have this:

Elain “growing claws” as she begins to shift away from her more passive personality traits. Almost like a wolf in sheep’s clothes.

And to top it all off.

Brave when she has to be, like a cornered wolf. Signifying the flouting of her human traits and persona, much like what Feyre experienced.

SJM associated both Nesta and Feyre with wolves, and there is no way she will not do the same with Elain. Elain is not what she seems, stifled and hidden by the boundaries of circumstance and society. But when she is called upon, the claws come out. Kicking off the cauldron, slamming her feet into Hybern hounds, stabbing the King of Hybern. She was never a sheep, people just were too consumed by the teeth and claws of her sisters to notice Elain had those same defenses too.

You know how Im obsessed with void? I've always been bc cauldron had void in it..so YEARS AGO while I was scrolling through Sarah's pinterest board she had this image saved and now with all the cc books we have the actual void which makes me question how this play out.

Friendly reminder that Azriel has a rebellious nature. He’ll follow and respect Rhys’ orders, but only for a short period of time. To think that he’ll stay away from Elain forever is not understanding his character.
