I love rereading books because then you start noticing all these little details and hints you missed the first time and it changes your whole perception of the book

the term “queer” is actually very prevalent/necessary in academia (queer theory, queer studies, queer history) BECAUSE it wholly encapsulates everything that needs to be encapsulated. THAT’S the point. you can argue that a historical figure was queer because it is such a loose term, but you can’t argue that a historical figure was gay/bi/etc because people didn’t THINK of sexuality back then like they do today! they had a completely different world view + paradigm!! but it is imperative that academia does have terms to describe what needs to be studied, and queer is the perfect option for that
