Okay, survey to the people who still follow me that read my Losers fics. If I was going to dust of an unpublished WIP and finish it which would you prefer to read:
College Swim Team AU- Jake is a freshman trying out for the swim team. Clay and Roque are the grouchy coaches. Cougar is the captain of the team, and Pooch is one of the upperclassmen on the team. Jake and Cougar butt heads at first, but Cougar takes a shine to him, and they become closer and closer as the season progresses. Featuring: distance swimmer Cougar, sprinter Jake, tiny swim trunks, pool/shower shenanigans, angst.
Professional Cuddler AU- Jake is a professional cuddler, and one day his boss sits him down and asks if he’d be willing to take a unique client. Cougar is former military, and Jake quickly finds out that the man can stand physical contact. Slowly, they work toward Cougar being able to tolerate touch, but in the meantime they grow closer and closer as they share their own struggles and triumphs with each other. Featuring: ANGST, lots of cuddling and intimacy, tragic backstories, slow dancing
Rock Band AU- Jake spends a summer touring with The Losers as the band’s assistant. Jake gets a front row seat to the mischief each of the members gets up to. Jake isn’t sure where he stands with Cougar, the band’s guitarist, but getting to spend time with him is like nothing Jake’s ever experienced from watching him write songs, to waking up in bed with him because he worked himself too hard and fell asleep in Cougar’s bed.
How Jake Became a Loser Fic- Jake’s dad is a General and close friend of Clay’s, so he asks the Losers to give Jake a tour and try to talk him into joining up since he just graduated college. Jake has more pressing things on his mind, like seducing Cougar. Follows the bumpy road Jake takes to become a Loser and the even bumpier relationship he has and doesn’t have with Cougar throughout.
Cougar Having a Family Prior to the Army AU- Cougar got married before enlisting, and his marriage deteriorated as he worked his way up. He’s captured and presumed dead not long after the birth of his daughter. When he finally makes it home, he’s a broken man and his family is in pieces. He becomes a Loser, and slowly rebuilds his life in no small part due to Jake Jensen who won’t take no for an answer when it comes to friendship. (This story is seriously heartbreaking, no MCD, but ouch. But it does have a happy ending, also it is a cougsen story even though the summary might not seem that way)
There are also stories that feature Dragon Cougar, Merman Cougar, and Vampire Cougar, but I haven’t gotten around to rereading them, so I don’t know what state they’re in since all of these are over a year old. All of the ones listed are close to if not more than 20k already, so they’re all long fics.
So, does anyone have any preferences? Do any of these sound like something you’d like to read?
