The Unlucky Prince
Series: End Roll Pairing: Informant & Russell Summary: Russell tries to find a four-leaf clover. Notes: i didn't hear about segawatober until just the other day! i've been having trouble writing lately, but i've been thinking of rule of rose lately and the clover prompt spoke to me (it's also the inspiration behind the title!) so i thought i'd try to get something out for it at least. @a-regretful-rpg, thank you for arranging the event! Warnings: Blood, Guilt, Emotional Hurt, Mentions of Character Death AO3
“Oh? What are you doing?”
The Informant bounces on his heels, watching Russell hunched over, hands brushing aside patches of grass on the ground.
As expected, Russell doesn’t answer him. Each new day brings forth another burst of successful guilt in the boy, and with it, comes self-hatred with only one place to direct it that isn’t himself—of course, it being the one who shares his face. Perhaps, it is also comes from knowing the Informant’s question must be rhetorical since he claimed to know everything already. Either way, he’s certainly used to the silent treatment, and indeed, already knew the answer to his own query.
“You won’t find one you know. Even with this place being called Clover Hospital, did you really think there’d be something as lucky as a four-leaf clover waiting here? As if you could be that lucky, Russell.”
Playing Your Role
Series: End Roll Pairing: Informant/Russell Summary: The door opens, Russell still not bothering to knock when he knows this is where the Informant will always be waiting by the telephone, until the day he isn't. He looks up from his book, sitting on the couch and pretending to hold an air of nonchalant surprise. “Who are you?” What an interesting question, coming from Russell that is. One that simply has the Informant offering him the same smile like always. “I’m the Informant, silly. Didn’t I already tell you that?” Warnings: Thought Gore, Descriptions of wounds, Implied Murder, Guilt, Codependency, Character Study, Canon Typical Warnings AO3
Russell is coming.
The Informant already knows this, as he already knows many unwanted things in this world. It’s not so much that knowing alone is unpleasant, it’s his role after all—it’s the begrudging distance he’s made to keep.
For the curse to knowing is Russell won’t come to him until he absolutely needs him, and even then, the Informant can see in his eyes he doesn’t really want to know the answers. He asks them because he needs them.
His question today takes the Informant by surprise. It isn’t a needed question. One of curiosity, and seeping with an unusual yearning Russell only reserves for the residents of this little town. Though, the Informant supposes, he lives here too.
Moonlight Shadow
Series: Persona 3 Pairing: Minato Arisato/Ryoji Mochizuki Summary: Ryoji sees the blood and butterflies leading him to Minato knowing he can't do a thing. It doesn't stop him from going, up until he can't. Warnings: Allusions to suicide ideation, major character death Notes: ive fell into the hole that is the magnus archives and couldn't help applying end avatar imagery to ryoji because it fits so nicely. it's alright if you don't know anything about the series going into this it isn't really necessary. as usual, i simply like to think about ryoji being drawn to minato despite the circumstances of their existence.
thank you very much to ash who read it over and also suggested a title! it's apparently from a song called moonlight shadow by mike oldfield AO3
The night they meet is the first of many times Ryoji has attempted to stop Minato from reaching his end.
i got two fics i gotta crosspost over here still and also im debatin abt trying to revamp my comms page again or smth, or at least, maybe share my ko-fi here more.

Series: Death Note Pairing: Matt | Mail Jeevas/Mello | Mihael Keehl, Matt | Mail Jeevas & Mello | Mihael Keehl Summary: “You? You know this is reality, right? One slip, you’re dead. And if you’ve been following me, then you already know I’m doing fine; as if I need a lazy airhead like you.”
Matt’s known the other long enough that he’s devolving to insults as a means of misdirection. He’s in over his head and doesn’t want to admit it—he’s been watching after all, and whatever he’s been through these last three years shows that truth quite well.
Notes/Warnings: am i actually posting a tiny mattmello reunion fic i started months ago and finished at approximately 4 am. yes, apparently i am. it has been several years since i have written either of them or reread the manga so there might. be details misplaced, i just had a sudden resurgence of thoughts about them a couple months ago and felt like finishing this as a warm up. title is from the song 'I Want to Know Your Plans' by Say Anything AO3
He hadn’t expected someone in the room when he got back, but given who and what he’s been looking into he really shouldn’t have known better.
The place was a mostly rundown motel that allotted anonymity, but that was likely also what would make it easy to let another stranger in, if said stranger happened to act like he knew him. Seeing as the person now matching his gun point wasn’t entirely a stranger, such a scenario made it rather easy to get access to his room.
“Really Mell? Three years and this is how you greet me?” Matt asks tone relatively light for the situation. The truth was the hardened gaze glaring back at him right now was undeniably Mello, but not the same boy he used to call his friend.
“You pointed it at me first,” Mello eventually answers back, no similar mirth found in his voice. Cold and clipped, not even a hint of irritation like the redhead had expected.
i don’t want your crown
Series: The Magnus Archives Pairing: One-Sided Elias Bouchard/Jonathan Sims, Martin Blackwood/Jonathan Sims Summary: Jon and Martin reach the Panopticon. It doesn't have the answers they're looking for, and it doesn't go how Elias expects.
for days 6 & 7: beholding and dynamic shift Notes/Warnings: Possessive Behavior, Reluctant Relationship, Manipulation, Dynamic Shift, Body Horror, Eye Horror, Discussion of T erminal Illness, Jealousy AO3
The tower looms overhead, ostentatious and as daunting as it was when only a blip in the distance. A horrid beacon that Jon knows they’ll have to enter, however much he’s torn on it. He’s being called—has been presumably by both Elias and the Eye itself, but he doesn’t know what awaits them up there, nor if it will help anything.
He wants to know what’s up there.
He doesn’t want to know his place up there. Acknowledge the burning desire to see it all.
“So this is it,” Martin’s voice breaks his thoughts, and it’s grounding to hear against the stress of the impeding climb.
“Yes, this is it,” Jon reiterates a bit pointlessly. He’s done his best to avoid looking directly, but it’s obvious Martin has more questions for him. All he can focus on is trying to steel himself for whatever remaining trap Jonah might have for them, and what Martin might expect him to do once they’re up there. There are so many more people he owes it to, to fix things, but he can’t think of them right now either. If he even can do anything about Jonah, there’s no guarantee it would fix anything or mean anything beyond petty revenge.
Whatever he expects Martin to ask, he’s instead surprised to see his outstretched hand.
“Ready? Walked long enough to get here, couple of flights of stairs can’t be that much worse.”
Jon only offers an uneasy smile back, but accepts his hand as they enter.
here’s hoping i have an update to something soon. currently ch 3 of a series of wagers is about Half done, smoke and mirrors continuation has been started, and i have a long jontim fic i’ve been picking away at.
i had one more prompt i wanted to do for je week, but idk if i’ll end up finishing it.
A New Perspective
Series: The Magnus Archives Pairing: Elias Bouchard/Jonathan Sims Summary: “Statement of Jonathan Sims regarding a tome that… appears to transmogrify humans to have catlike features. Statement given direct from subje—Ow,” Jon glares, trying to ignore the unintentional way he feels his newfound tail swish to reflect his annoyance, ears flattening. Elias’s normally well-manicured nails have elongated to claws, and currently one was digging through the thin fabric of his skirt and into his thigh.
“Oops,” Elias says, infuriatingly blasé. Jon hesitates another moment, before sighing and leaving the tape recorder going. If the topic ceased being important, surely it would turn itself off.
“You could at least pretend you didn’t do this on purpose.”
for day 5 - alternate universe Notes/Warnings: Catboy Leitner, Seduction to the Dark Side, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Canon Asexual Character, Demisexual Jon, Nonbinary Jon, Intercrural Sex, Misuse of Beholding Powers, mild bloodplay this is the self indulgent fic i gifted to myself this week and by virtue of that very little set up for this AU dynamic. i just wanted to use the day five prompts for catboys and was encouraged. thank you theo for suggesting specifically catboy leitners.
also jon's gender identity is not super elaborated on here, but he has been experimenting with presentation and finding comfort in some more typically 'feminine' clothing, but hasn't given much thought to pronouns or labels beyond it yet. he just realized after hiding out at georgie's and needing to borrow her clothes again that wow skirts are nice and he deserves to feel good about that after everything that's happened. if i ever play around in this universe again, the progression may develop, but for now. here we go!

Elias makes a noise implying he’s listening, but doesn’t do much else besides repeat that same flexing of claws and Jon hates the hiss that leaves his mouth. It’s unnatural, and for that reason it catches Elias’s attention, an upturn to the corner of his already smiling mouth, which Jon recognizes as the man holding back laughter.
Smoke and Mirrors
Series: The Magnus Archives Pairing: Elias Bouchard/Jonathan Sims Summary: Elias offers to help Jon quit smoking. He doesn't particularly feel that strongly about it, but when presented with another incentive, Jon finds himself going along with it anyway. for jonelias week day 2 - manipulation & caretaking Notes/Warnings: Pre-Canon, Manipulation, Smoking, Dom/sub undertones AO3 CH1 - ?
It starts with a harmless, albeit likely patronizing, observation.
“That’s a nasty habit.”
Jon’s eyes flick up and away from the hand steadying his lighter, the smoke already starting to drift off the end of his cigarette. He’s used to such comments. Generally, people are even worse about it, go on about how he’s polluting the air and so on—hence, why he’s even on this side of the building, which has more or less been claimed by the other smokers at the Institute.
However, he’s pinned by the fact the words came from none other than Elias Bouchard, Head of the Magnus Institute and currently his boss’s boss. He finishes his inhale, carefully manages his exhale without it sputtering into the coughs his rapidly beating heart want him to make. Evidently, Elias doesn’t smoke or approve of it, which makes Jon wonder if he simply comes out here to make such comments.
countdown
Series: The Magnus Archives Pairing: Elias Bouchard/Jonathan Sims Summary: Jon's steadily starting to realize that the Institute's priorities are not quite what they should be, and that maybe, he didn't understand his new position as well as he thought he did. for jonelias week day 1 - s1 Notes/Warnings: Season 1, Pre-Slash, Manipulation AO3
“You really don’t consider any of this a concern?”
The clock in the corner of the room ticks and tocks as steady a rhythm as the pen scratching whatever report Elias is working on while Jon tries to conduct their meeting. He hadn’t gone through the typical procedure of scheduling it—finding it far more pressing how increasingly little the man before him cared about the things people actually told them in statements.
“Oh, they’re a concern alright, but not necessarily to us, or this institution. Not to mention, it has nothing to do with what we’re here for, as I believe I’ve told you before,” Elias flicks his attention up briefly from his docket, to catch Jon’s eyes. He’d think they look beautiful if it weren’t for how piercingly hollow they looked—devoid of warmth, but brimming with intensity at whatever they gazed at. Searching him for something, but he never knows what.
we only have ourselves
Series: The Magnus Archives Pairing: Martin Blackwood & Peter Lukas, Martin Blackwood/Peter Lukas Summary: Martin's mother dies. He isn't as sad about it as he thinks he should be, but when you have a mother like that, is it really so strange? Peter knows all about estranged family and gives his two cents. Notes/Warnings: Grief, Allusions to Parental Abuse, Parental Death, Character Study, Guilt, Pre-Slash AO3
“I... see. Yes, I’m okay, she… never mentioned anything, but—mhmm, alright. Did she… leave anything? Ah, okay, I’ll be up as soon as I can and… yes she wanted to be buried. Okay.”
Martin ends the call and stares at his phone. There’s a hollowing ache settling in, which makes it difficult to tell whether he wants to cry because he’s genuinely upset or relieved. The longer he focuses on that second feeling, does a spiral of shame unfurl in his stomach because he shouldn’t feel that way about his mother dying. He has nothing left now. It is as freeing as it is empty.
Denial
Series: End Roll Pairing: Informant & Russell Summary: When Russell decides he doesn't want to confess his crimes, every day he wakes up and finds himself at inforMashun! asking the same question. Warnings: suicide ideation, choking, true end 2 spoilers AO3
Sometimes though, the Informant’s words aren’t as cruel and cutting as they usually are. Simultaneously, he’s the neighbor that gives Russell the most solace—reminds him exactly what it is he’s supposed to be doing here and why he’s human garbage.
“Come here, Russell. Sit with me,” the Informant beckons, tone soft and a bit playful, as he closes the book he’d been reading moments prior and carelessly throws it on the table. Talks with Russell were always more interesting than whatever useless text he already knew the contents of. Then again, when it came to these talks, he knew what would be said already too, didn’t he?
“What do you think happens if you try to kill yourself in this world? That’s the question you’ve been wondering about haven’t you?” He asks—eyes showing obvious amusement even with the dire subject. Russell doesn’t move to confirm that was why he came over, he doesn’t have to. There’s no sympathy behind the green eyes staring at him as they contort into a bitter smile.
“Do you think they’d let you off easy? You know how to really end things, but you’re still afraid.”
“Do you actually feel guilty, or are you still just feeling sorry for yourself?”
Unreasonably, the condescending tone thrown his way only spurs Russell into closing the distance, reaching for the other’s neck impulsively. He can’t say for sure why he thought this talk would go differently. Since he was apparently just feeling sorry for himself, did he come here to try and find that solace he thought the other was capable of? Did he really think for a moment the Informant would have something reassuring to say?
Russell’s fingers twitch around the other’s throat, but he can’t bring himself to press down. It’s only after a moment that he realizes the questions he’d been asking himself weren’t coming from his head, but from the other’s mouth.
“Are you trying to kill me because you can’t kill yourself? You’re so funny Russell,” the Informant says, humorlessly.
“If you’re so eager for this to end, why don’t you just do it already? Either kill me and keep living in your delusions until I’m not here to listen to your complaints anymore, or confess so you can redeem whatever’s left of your sorry existence.”
As expected, Russell’s hands drop back to his sides because he’s right—he’s always right. Since the moment he left his house and came to this shop, he’d known Russell was never going to go through with it. The one mercy he was providing now was not saying such a fact out loud and letting him repeat the same routine time after time.
“How many times are you going to make me repeat myself?” The Informant quietly asks, more tired than Russell is used to seeing him.
“When will you just let us wake up?”

Series: The Magnus Archives Summary: A window pane view into the life of a spider, a dance, and a puppet turned pupil. Notes/Warnings: Addiction, Implied/Referenced Self-Harm, Manipulation, Emotional/Psychological Abuse, unsettling, unreality, guilt tripping elaborated tws: - there is a narrative shift where there is a direct 'You' if that sort of thing unsettles you, be warned - pretty direct and referenced mentions of emotional abuse and an implied reference that this directed abuse causes self destructive behavior. the reference itself is extremely minor. -the form of abuse lends itself to making the you question reality AO3
They dance a pas de duex for one. Their partner is not seen, not truly there. A string is hardly a hand, and it does not follow the same moves, for this dance is not the Spider’s. This is a perfect pas de duex, but only for one.
It is a dance that is reluctant. Clunky. Painful. The strings of its orchestra played by those other limbs, each one playing a role in all the fears. They are mere tools, disguises and masks worn by the conductor directing the pain and suffering of the one doing this dance.
They stop. They wheeze. Terrified and afraid and alone. Questioning why they dance, what good it does, who is there? Is anyone there? Can they stop now? It hurts.
And the music keeps going.
The music keeps going.
A Series of Wagers (2/3)
Series: The Magnus Archives Pairing: Elias Bouchard/Peter Lukas Summary: "An interesting gamble for one who consorts with The One Alone… up to something are we?”
"Wouldn't you like to know?" He throws back, face contorting into a facsimile smile that rings hollow despite the amusement that has to be there ghosting his lips.
Peter was right though. He did want to know. He always did. And if it weren’t for the mirage now obscuring that information from him, it wouldn’t be necessary at all. Frankly, it was interesting enough on its own that he was finding himself getting the attention now when this was hardly the first time they had met. It’s been a good night overall though, and he isn’t complaining about the game. There’s something surprisingly lively in the pale sea weathered man across the table he hasn’t seen from any of his family in a long time.
"And if I win?" Elias asks, even though he is already picking his cards from the deck.

Chapter 2: 2002 - 2011
DECEMBER 2002
While normally Elias has no issues in, and even to a degree, enjoys planning events it came as a relief to not be in charge of it this year. The end of the year is always a busy time between responsibilities to the Institute, its employees, planning the usual office party, and making sure every loose end was knotted off—nothing left lingering on his check list.
So it’s a bit of a reward when all is said and done. And despite their disposition, the Lukas family threw a good party. The venue contained plenty of spots to hide away, and after giving the necessary greetings to donors also attending, he’s able to find a nice view point from one of the tables at the top of the staircase, and comfortably watch the night unfold.
With the amount of catching up between those attending, it’s easy to glean a succinct summary of how everyone else spent the year. The things they admit, the things they think they should keep as a card up their sleeves. The tentative boundaries they draw around each other and where those alliances overlap or remain prickly as ever. Elias sits and watches them all, sipping at a flute of champagne.
It’s no surprise when Peter finds him, as usual not caring to properly announce his presence.

Chapter 1: 1996 - 2000
MARCH 1996
‘Elias’ conveniently finds himself settled into his new position as Head of the Magnus Institute in time for the first quarterly fundraiser party. It makes introductions and reestablishing connections far easier, and it’s fun playing host in a slightly different fashion, no doubt displaying old habits just in a newer, charming skin. Old alliances don’t bat an eye to it, and some already know the script and their lines.
As the party winds down though, he’s reintroduced to a Lukas he only had passing familiarity with as usually his discussions were more with the current head Nathaniel. Here or there, an exchange or two had been made, but nothing short of typical business. Accepting a stray artifact now and again as well as providing cover for some questionable missing folk isn’t really something out of line. In return, they get new things for storage, and even the occasional statement, if there are those strong enough to escape their fates.
On the surface, The Tundra’s captain doesn’t bear much difference than what he’s used to, and it’s the age old formality of having a new body that prompts the need for a conversation at all.
However, before he can even properly address it, Peter is pulling out his wallet, passing a note over to Nathaniel making Elias glance between the both of them in an attempt to size up the joke.
