mason and stiles are lowkey completely different, nearly opposite people outside of figuring things out

stiles is interesting academically to say the least, he's very smart, but tends to apply his skills in goofy ways (such as what he decides to write his essays in coach's econ class about). meanwhile mason is giving a pleasure to have in class realness, and he's so good at school that he has a 4.9 gpa and can replicate science labs he's completed before.

while stiles is naturally inclined to skepticism, mason only actually exhibits skepticism a few times. take how they both handled theo, for example. stiles wouldn't let him off the hook no matter what, while mason didn't see anything wrong with the guy until he literally killed scott in front of him. the only time i can think of mason catching something early was when he sensed some kind of ulterior motive with monroe in 6x11. in the same vein, stiles is a lot harder to outwit than mason. stiles can kind of volley and lie and swindle characters he's in opposition with, while mason is very sincere and heart on his sleeve, which isn't as helpful during negotiations. i also think an interesting parallel with stiles and scott's friendship in opposition with mason and liam's, is the optimism/pessimism aspect. stiles is MUCH more pessimistic than scott, and far quicker to see the bad in people and situations, while scott has a head in the clouds idealism that borders on fantastical many times in the show. meanwhile, liam bellyaches and wallows quite a lot when bad things happen to him, while mason puts a positive spin on pretty much everything, and doesn't dwell in much.

they're very different people, is what i'm saying. i actually doubt they'd vibe much. i still desperately crave some one on one interaction between them though, it would've been interesting...

one of my favorite thiam things is the moments when liam is like "i stand with my canceled wife" while someones saying something against theo and theo is just standing there with the deadpan face ever

i need a fic where everything is the same except theo sees the ghost/hallucinations of tara who's not actually as aggressive as he remembered her from hell, she doesn't try to get her heart back, she doesn't try to attack, she's just there... with suddenly very strong opinions on theo's pathetic life and even more pathetic feelings toward one particular werewolf.

I mean, the fact that his hell began in the morgue cells and was based on not being able to get out? The fact that we literally never see him in a close space with no way out except the elevator with Liam.

When Alec asked for a laptop, they naturally thought he meant for homework. Maybe that had been giving him too much credit. And Mason's old laptop would have been adequate for the task if it had only been used for a Word document here and there and a couple wikipedia searches but the blaring sound of the computer's ventilation betrays the fact that Alec is once again wasting his evening playing Sims.

“No, but this is cool! I'm making us as a Sims family!” Alec urgently defends himself when Liam reminds him he's supposed to be doing that English paper.

All fight dies in Liam at the word “family”. Which… maybe that was Alec's plan all along, that sly boy. Overfilled with affection, Liam gives Alec, who's settled on the kitchen island, a slice of pepper he just cut.

“Hey, Theo, how do you write your last name again?” Alec asks through his chewing, his eyes stuck to his screen like he's making sure Apollo 11 lands correctly on the moon.

Theo drops the grimoire he's currently translating on the kitchen table to stare at Alec with a deep frown like he's being an idiot.

So Liam takes it upon himself to answer. “R…” Despite starting with full confidence, Liam suddenly stops, stuck as he tries to write the last name over and over in his head. “E?”

“Liam!” Theo exclaims, a hint of genuine offense in his voice.

“It's a very difficult name, alright!" Liam exclaims with just as much intensity. "Why are there two vowels one after the other?”

“Because that's how words work, Li-am!”

Mouth open, Liam raises his eyebrows and then slowly closes his mouth again. Uh. He knows he's been bested so he goes back to cutting his vegetables.

Alec sighs. “It's fine, I'll just put R.”

Theo sighs so hard, both Liam and Alec hear him despite the laptop making so much noise, it feels like a plane is going to land on the kitchen island.

"R-A-C-K-E—" Liam whispers to Alec, his tone unsure.

"Oh my god, just stop! Stop!" Theo screams.

A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.

Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.

Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.

Help, I just came up with an idea for a fanfic where Tara is alive and loves Theo so much that when he tells her he's madly in love with Liam, Tara decides to kidnap him to give him to him. To Theo, of course... A birthday present?
