You ever wanna see who’s really there? Hit the floor of rock bottom then look to see who cares. Now a days people got a way of letting jobs, money and distance, be a general excuse. Be lucky to be getting a how’re you text, let alone a phone call. When your birthdays comes? Who’s there with you, or who’s just posting on your Facebook wall? Don’t even get me started on when they get in a relationship or new friendship. Yeah its great when people can be there to comfort you at 2 am when the night consumes you, but who’s got your back when it’s the middle of the day and the hands on the clock won’t move and you still got hours left of your shift. Do they take the time to be aware of your recovery? Or does it still have them shook? Ain’t no one looking round anymore but down at their screens. They don’t hear you scream. And to me that ain’t a real friend. You see, who’s gonna be there? Is who’s gonna be there. It doesn’t matter how many hours they work that week or how many miles are between yalls feet. When was the last time they picked up the phone and called you? Saw you face to face without out you picking the time and place. Friendship gets to often thrown to waste and when you rising up from the fall that’s when you need it most of all. Blessed the universe destined for us to meet. Together we’ll greet our demons and flee, right to the top while everyones jaws drop. @highh-maryjane
