Imagine tripping over that tiger head five times a day
Evening drawing school. Boston, Massachusetts. Ca.1890.
The mask she is drawing is a copy of L’Inconnue de la Seine, which is a death mask of a woman who drowned in the Seine in the late 1880s. The death mask was widely circulated in the hopes of identifying the woman, but her identity was never discovered. The mask became incredibly popular among artists around the 1900s.
You may recognize her as the CPR dummy Resusci Anne, whose face was based offf L’Inconnue.

Alone Together by Aristotle Roufanis
Alone Together is an ongoing photographic project by Aristotle Roufanis (b.1983 Athens, Greece), for which the London-based photographer takes photos of a large metropolis in a way that only tiny, individual apartment lights are visible. Hardly recognizable in the dark, some of the world’s most famous metropolis such as London, Paris, Miami, and Athens are transformed into sprawling canvases of anonymity, where countless people have decided to make their home but hardly connect to each other. The project takes this phenomenon of social alienation in urban centers as a starting point and adds a positive, optimistic twist to it. Artist website.

Merchants’ National Bank, Grinnell (Iowa), 1914, Architect: Louis Sullivan Source
I wrote at least one paper about this building while I was in college (inevitable, as I was studying art history at Grinnell College) and somewhere on my external hard drive I have a bunch of pictures of the interior. It has a lot of beautiful fixtures and stained glass.

Looks like my account has been compromised. If I sent you a note asking for bitcoin, I assure you it was not me. Please do not send bitcoin. My apologies.

I regret to inform you this is real.
I’m always kind of interested to see what Lindsay Lohan is up to, because we are exactly the same age and my name is also Lindsay. It’s like a bizarro world version of “what could have been” where I honestly think I got the better end of the deal.
