Mamo and terashii at AX2019
Seeing mamo and terashii at AX2019 was magical ✨
Sat through the Human Lost premiere panel beforehand and had my first dose of Mamo plus a surprise m-flo appearance.(!!) It was amazing.
Luckily I was able to scoot up to a better seat before the UtaPri panel. Made friends with the lovely couple sitting with me (filisse if you out there!). Then it started and was just madness. I listen to UtaPri music but am not familiar with it's anime business at all, so I didn't realize that this Maji Love Kingdom premiere was basically a concert. It was a wild experience cuz it somehow actually kinda felt like being in a real concert...except with anime guys with a budget of infinity. It was so fun and my first time to experience so much fangirl energy.
But when Mamo and Terashii came out....god the crowd was went mad. Of course I lost it too and screamed like HELL, but still I could hardly hear myself over all the other girls.
The boys were so cute and still giving us that service they often do at concerts and such <3. Buddy buddy arms around shoulders, gorgeous smiles and waving and blowing kisses..complimenting each other's characters as cool/sexy XD...Mamo fuckennnn giving us some sexy pelvic thrusty dance moves while running his hands down himself (it was amazing!!!) when the translator asked "HOW sexy is his character". Both boys also tried some great English attempts (soo adorable!! *applause*)... .Mamo had a couple comments implying interest in doing an UtaPri live here...?? If that hype could build and make it happen then that would be nuts. They could take all my money. Oh yes and the surprise video message from the STARISH cast drove the room crazy! The screams were so loud I thought we drowned out the audio cuz I couldn't hear shit. When the screams quieted down, we realized it wasn't our fault but the audio just wasn't coming through, so IT fixed it and they tried playing it again Don't get me wrong, they found the cause of the audio thing but we were still loud af.
And in the Q&A the boys had some great things to say...which I think would've been even better if that translator didn't keep getting lost conversing with them or trying to make us laugh when she joked with that deep suggestive voice thing... Like, it's great keeping it loose and entertaining but...I didn't care for some liberties she took in prettying up her translations... and most of all, her efforts in trying to rile up the audience. Like when terashii casually pointed out that there was a lot of cosplay and said it's cute, this lady had be like, "he says you're CUTE...." in deep booming ass voice right on the mic as if it was meant to be sexy?? like no, nobody wants you to say it like that! Terashii was smiling and so friendly and casual trying to compliment these girls so don't twist it into this awkward joke! He can HEAR you and what you made his comment out to be! And she did this kind of thing over and over. And i think one of the question was what they do after live concerts or something...and Mamo was just trying to tell us that during/between(?) live concerts, he and the guys just hang out and play cards in the room. But the translator tries to rile it up with the big deep voice shit and is like "in the HOTEL..." Like he's about to say something scandalous after that?? Likkke can she just do less of that, less joking around, and maybe justt translate it straight please? I mean imagine if you were in Japan and your interpreter kept fucking around, trying to imply things or rile you/audience up about something with THE VOICE...and all the while you don't know exactly what they're saying/doing, but you know it's doing something between them and the audience and might not even be your intention but it's out of your hands. I was cringing at how much she did it, consistently from start to end of the panel. My poor boys, smiling and waiting patiently through the awkwardness. Anyways. I wish they kept the Human Lost interpreter around to cover the UtaPri panel. He was solid.
I digress.
What's important is that Mamo and terashii were amazing perfect gentlemen. Seeing them on the stage close enough that I didn't even have to look at the TV screens... and hearing their real voices echoing in the same room vs through my headphones was...amazing!! Being in a room that they would blow kisses to was not something I imagined experiencing in my life, but there I was and it was unreal. Mamo gave a couple single handed flying kisses while Terashii gave one double handed flying kisses. Yes, I burned those images into my memory. My throat was in pain after from all the screaming. I wish I took notes of everything that happened to remember later since I felt I was in a daze... but honestly at this point I am pooped and the details are becoming fuzzy.
Last memory I have of them was as they left the stage... It's something I'm pretty sure I saw him or some other seiyuu do at other events...in which terashii "trips" over something and then another seiyuu would have to catch him. Lol it happened this time as they were leaving... terashii tripped and stumbled, Mamo caught him, and without separating, they continued to bid us goodbye and god they were adorable! In my head I wondered if this was the old trick or if he honestly tripped because there was a laptop cord running across the stage XD
Anyways. Bottom line, magical experience that I'm thankful to have had. I'm also happy that Mamo and terashii seemed honestly kinda surprised/moved at our enthusiasm and really felt the love. Hopefully this panel was promising enough that they'll bring the rest of the crew back for a bigger event!
