so i wanted to provide another life update, since ive been basically radio silent since my last fic ended, and there's a few reasons for that and i feel like i owe people (the like. one person left) an explanation

gonna be honest. the main reason i haven't done much over here is bc ive kinda moved away from fanfiction as a whole. which sucks, because i genuinely do love it, i'm just also writing for school and writing as a hobby and writing for publishers and pretty much my entire life is writing now, and i can only keep up with so much. maybe i'll write another fic or do some fun oneshots but i'm not putting myself on a strict schedule, it'll happen when it happens. maybe when riptide comes back i'll have a burst of inspiration? who knows lmao (riptide tomorrow guys trust me 🙏🙏🙏)

i got an email from "my" publisher (not really *my* publisher but they're publishing my work so) letting me know that they have officially started working on the magazine i'll appear in :> honestly such an insane email to receive, like having confirmation that i'm gonna be published in a few months is surreal. i'm beyond excited and nervous and anxious and so so fucking grateful that i have this opportunity, and i hope to experience this many more times in the future :) i've decided that when this magazine comes out i'll promote it on here and on bluesky. i want y'all to see what else i do, and it's a good way to put myself out there. maybe i'll also post some of my other poetry here as well.

anyway i finally got my drivers license the other day and i should be getting a car hopefully in the next few months, so if anyone has any bumper sticker ideas i would greatly appreciate it. i want to be one of those cool people with the funny bumper stickers.

i'm at a good point in my life tbh, i turn 21 in just over a month, ive gotten back into dating, i'm picking up some new hobbies, idk man things are great. ive found myself using social media way less than i used to (still an amount that classifies as "too much", but not nearly as bad as before).

gonna be honest since the start of the year i've been in a bit of a slump, i haven't really felt that great and i haven't written much, and the funny thing about clinical depression is that sometimes (at least in my experience) when you're in an episode you don't notice it until it's been a few weeks and you go "huh, when's the last time i showered" and you realize it's been like three days. so about a week ago i kinda sat down and went "listen. i'm gonna get myself out of this funk. no matter what. i gotta do it" so i started putting more effort into shit and it helps a little bit, honestly just having clean hair has been nice haha. i've been more productive which is good. so things are looking up, this isn't an "oh woe is me" post but rather a very long winded way of saying that yes, i am working on the last chapter of my fic, it's gonna be incredible, honestly looking back i wish i had done some things differently but multichap isn't my strong suit so if i wanna get better at it i gotta keep doing it.

i'll probably post chapter 7 before i finish chapter 8 just so i don't keep ppl waiting longer than i already have, honestly atp id be shocked if anyone read it bc of how long im taking 😭😭😭 yall gotta remember im a junior in college i don't have free time anymore LMAO

so i have another life update, i know im supposed to be writing but a lot is happening right now

so first off, the semester is coming to a close, and i have a lot of finals n stuff to work on. i'm back home now after over a month away due to the hurricane, and my city's boil water advisory was lifted yesterday, so things are slowly going back to normal over here. but god damn am i busy rn lmao

second of all, my partner and i chose to end our relationship yesterday. after over two years together we decided that it was the best choice for both of us. i'd like to keep the reasons we split private, but rest assured we're still good friends, and i wish her the best of luck in all her future endeavors. she actually starts a new job in december, and im super happy and excited for her. i can't wait to see her flourish and thrive now that she'll be working somewhere she truly loves. i couldn't be more proud of her. as much as i know this was the best decision for both of us, breaking up hurts no matter what the circumstances are. it's definitely bittersweet for me but i don't regret my decision. i just don't know how we're gonna tell our friends about it.

the third and final thing is i've had awful writers block. as a creative writing student this is alarming, as finals are coming up, but luckily i have enough material already written that i can submit for my assignments. but my luck kinda runs out there-- i love the fic im writing right now, and i fully intend on finishing it, but i think that until i get my shit together i might have to take a break from writing it. i know im basically already taking a break but until i finish out this semester, im not even gonna think about it unless i end up with some free time. balancing writing for school and writing for ao3 is extremely difficult for me.

that's all for now. i got a record player yesterday so ive finally been giving my vinyl collection a listen. right now im listening to ok computer by radiohead (imo the best radiohead album) which is actually really good music to write to. it's genuinely helped my productivity lmao so i'm gonna get back to it. later :3
