If Toji destroyed Zenin Clan, there would be no Maki and Mai as their parents would be dead before they were born. I'm glad Toji left it all behind instead of killing them. Thus Maki came to life and destroyed the Zenin Clan. I'm happy it got destroyed by a woman and a heavenly restricted one at that. Toji would approve.

âNo. Try againâ, the man says.
The younger girl looks up at him then to the darkness around them feeling the eerie intense presence of the curses around them, waiting for an opening to strike.
âHeyâ he says abruptly, startling her.
He sighs while crossing his arms and lowers himself to her level when he realizes her focus for their daily sign language lesson is faltering.
âKid I told you as long as Iâm with you they won't hurt you, and I ain't breakin us out of here until youâre in better physical condition, we don't know when or if your vocal cords will heal after what those bastards did to you, so, try signing again.â
For the past three months, the young girl had been kept in the Zeninâs âspecialâ training room, a room where sunlight barely touches. A room filled with curses grade 2 or lower. After slashing her throat, she was thrown in to fight for her own life, however, someone, this man, had already made this his home. Ever since they met this man has cared for her physical wounds and has even helped to ease her mental ones, he had become the friend she never had, the friend a child like her could only dream of.
When she first arrived at the Zenin estate, she had witnessed television for one of the first times. A young servant girl in the Zenin clan had snuck her out of her room late at night and invited her to the other side of the estate to watch a movie.
âMy name is Aiko! Don't worry Iâll get you back before they even notice you're gone!â
âWhere are we going? I-i donât want any trouble please!â the younger girl pleaded. She knew the sort of consequences the Zenin clan was capable of, the higher ups had gravely informed her in detail of the kinds of things they would do to her, regardless of her age.
The older girl ran even faster through the halls of the estate pulling the younger one even harder by the arm until coming to a stop in front of a door, opening it very slowly, the walls inside were bare and beige colored, only a bed in the corner and a television on the other side, it was neat and tidy. She steps into the room and turns motioning for the other girl to join her.
âCome on in! Itâs my cousin Naoyaâs old room, he said I could play in here until they find another use for it, it even has a TV!â Her giggles echoed throughout the room, if the younger girl was raised normally, she might have felt at ease, but she felt nothing but terror.
âAiko, I really want to go back to my room pleas-â
âI saw you crying when you came the other day,â She interjects, âIt made me feel really sad because you seem like someone nice , but my mama said you couldn't be my friend when I asked, so I played spy and followed you when I saw that you were going to train with uncle Ogi- â she takes a pause and closes her eyes thinking back clearly to the memory that happened a few days into your arrival.
âIâve never seen uncle Ogi be so mean to someone, sometimes he says words that are not nice to me, but he was really hitting you! I saw ! â She paces back and forth while explaining, â so after that I knew I needed to be your knight ! like in the movies! So, ta da!â she points to herself proudly smiling a toothy grin, finally looking at the younger girl.
Her smile quickly fades when she notices tears falling from the girl's eyes. âWHA? What did I say? Iâm your knight, you can't cry !â She hurries over and grabs her hands. âLookâ, she brings the girl further into the room, shuts the door quietly, and takes her over to the wooden bed in the corner.
On the bed, the younger girl notices some films and looks over at Aiko with curiosity, â Look at the movies! We don't have a lot of time, so I wanted to show you my favorite parts of this one!â She says holding up a movie cover with a smiling girl on the front and a man on a horse behind her, both smiling with a beautiful blue sky in the background. Aiko gives the younger girl no time to think and puts the movie in the VHS and settles down in front of the tv on the floor motioning for the girl to sit next to her.
Throughout the film, Aiko made sure to explain her favorite characters in grave detail to the point of spoiling the entire movie, but the younger girl didnât mind. She felt a warm feeling in her chest every time Aiko ran up to the TV to pause and turn back with her cheeks puffing up into a great big smile. Little y/n couldnât help but smile with her knight as they continued watching the movie that night.
After the first normal night of her life, young y/nâs happy fantasy of princesses and knights came crashing down the next day at her training session with some head members of the Zenin clan. Ogi Zenin was usually very harsh already, but on this day in particular, he was being rougher than normal. The training area was outdoors covered by trees not too far from the Zenin estate, as younger y/n is kicked to the ground coughing up blood, she notices a group of people coming from up the trail that leads back to the estate, men about 9 and a boy she had only seen in passing, the men seemed to be carrying something in their arms. Stopping just a bit out of her eye line of sight.
Ogi motions for the 9 men to step forward and thatâs when y/nâs blood runs cold, and her ears start ringing. She slowly looks to the ground, tears falling without having realized it, and her heart thumping in her chest like it never has before, it isn't until she hears Ogi speak that she realizes this isn't a dream.
âI noticed you were lacking this morning, Kaneko scum,â he crouches down and grabs her face harshly making her look up at him. â My nephew, Naoya here, informed me that you not only broke curfew last night, he says he happened to see you and Aiko Zenin was it?â Ogi turns his head to the younger boy who looks on at the scene in front of him, all he could do was nod and turn away when his eyes met the crying girl in front of him. Ogi brings his attention back to little y/n who is refusing to meet his eyes, he places his hand underneath her chin and grips her jaw tightly, forcing her to stand on her feet. Y/n struggles as it seems her legs have given out, not from the beatings she has endured every morning since she arrived, but from the dismembered body pieces in each of the men's arms just feet away from her. The body of her knight, Aiko Zenin.
âLet this be a lesson to you, it should have been an honor for someone like you to even step foot near this estate let alone have someone as great of a sorcerer as I personally train you, and yet you disobeyed a small rule that we had in place for you, which was to never leave your room unless it is for training. Now, Aiko here was punished for your mistake.â He grips her jaw forcing her to look towards the men at the trail as they dump Aikoâs battered body parts on the ground. Ogi walks toward the men throwing y/n on the ground in front of them and stands on her back, as he does this an audible crack is heard and a scream rips through y/nâs body. By this point, the younger boy had long run away back to the estate, and now y/n was all alone with 10 evil men, and the body of someone who had shown her what happiness could look like. Y/nâs breathing becomes shallow, and the tears donât stop rolling as she looks to the side and is met with Aikoâs decapitated head and lifeless eyes. Ogi steps off and makes way back to the center of the training ground,
âBreaks over, get up for the next round against all 10 of us, I hope seeing this has given you some motivation to be better.â
Young y/n lays on the ground looking into Aikoâs eyes remembering the night before: the giggles that filled the room, the smiles that were so big and bright , and the warmth in her heart. Itâs all gone. From the start, she should've known it was too good to be true. Moving her hands to Aiko's eyes she whispers, âI'm so sorry.â before shutting them.
Y/n struggles to stand and once she does, she looks up to the sky as her tears keep coming. Her horror had turned into sorrow, and that sorrow has now turned into pure hatred. Her breathing uneven, at this point she is running on pure adrenaline as she turns to face the 10 men.
All she can do is whistle as she goes numb.
Y/n whistles as her eyes change from her normal dark chocolate brown eyes to deep red. Birds from the surrounding trees start to mimic the whistle as Ogi and the other men look around in horror as their ears cannot take it anymore.
âShut the fuck up! â Ogi says as he draws his blade racing over to her, but in a flash sheâs gone.
The man that had carried Aikoâs head falls to his knees as he tries to cover his ears, but itâs too late as they've already begun to bleed, and soon after he hits the ground, dead.
âOneâ she whispers into Ogiâs ear as she runs by with one arm holding her abdomen and the other holding her blade, he almost misses but manages to slash her back. Somehow, she keeps moving, dodging attacks from the other men.
Those damn higher ups said she can only use her eyes for up to 2 minutes right now, she can only cancel or weaken some techniques by looking at the person, so I just need to be faster. Ogi thinks before running towards her.
Y/n would eventually succumb in those 2 minutes as the use of her cursed eyes drained her. She now lay on the ground in the middle of the training area looking up at the cloudy gray sky awaiting to die as her breathing has now become even more shallow.
âYou had me surprised scum,â she hears Ogiâs voice as he comes to stand over her body, blade drawn to her neck. âIf you survive this, think of it as your punishment for letting your emotions get out of control, how would Aiko feel?â he says mockingly before slashing her neck.
Waking up in a cold sweat, y/n finds herself back in the dark special training room, not too far from her is the man she has been living with sitting up looking over at her. They sleep on the cold cement floor each with their own futons too small for them and a very thin blanket. The two had developed a routine for about 2 months now: wake up, change y/nâs gauze around her throat and ribs, train, eat what little food was brought to them, train some more, sign language lessons, then sleep. They knew little about each other, not even knowing their names, but what they did know was that the other had a reason for wanting to get out.
The nightmares for y/n started immediately after she regained consciousness from her failed match, waking up in the room, surprised that she had even survived and then remembering the events, remembering Aiko. The man that was trapped down there was cold, but what he saw when he came out of the shadows was nothing but a young girl who had been battered like him by the same people. He already had an escape plan, but he decided to delay them due to wanting to free her as well. As the months passed the two developed an unlikely kinship between the failure of the Zenin clan and the cursed child. Toji knew he had to get out of here to go meet his love that was somewhere on the outside waiting for him, he had promised her heâd return, but how could he leave someone as equally as pained and bruised as he. He knew who she was, he knew that this was the monster that jujutsu society was so worried about since she had a power equal to the Gojo kids, he can recall the legends of her ancestors using the power for cursing. When he first met the young girl, he couldn't see her eyes, but he didn't have to, to know that they were the same. Fushiguro-san had healed this man's heart. He was in love and wanted to be better for her, and he knew she would be disappointed if he divulged his selfish desires and just left without the young girl. That's when the routine between the two had started and from then on they learned to trust and even grow fond of each other.
âAnother nightmare?â the man asks, crossing his legs.
y/n nods her head to confirm and the man sighs before speaking, âKid, I told you, you gotta clear your head before you sleep or you'll be too tired for training, tomorrow we start with getting you to try and exorcise one of the curses in this room. Itâll be a little tough for you, so you need to rest up.â Tojiâs senses are out of this world, so even in the dark room where a normal person wouldn't be able to see, he can. So, when he sees the younger girlâs hands trembling as she signs the word âbookâ with a slight pleading smile on her face, he lets out a laugh. âAnother story? You aren't 5, are you?â He teases her as she frowns and aggressively signs the word âbookâ again.
âAlright alright, get into your blanket so I can think of another.â he says looking away from her but when he looks back, the younger girl is already in her blanket like a little taco waiting for the man to tell her another story about the love of his life. Y/n loved this woman and she had never even met her, but from the way the man described her, she seemed like a dream, a beautiful warm loving woman, she was his knight. He made his bad thoughts go away, even when he was worthless to everyone else, he was more than enough for her. Y/n especially loved the way the man's mouth curved as he spoke about the woman, true fondness. Sometimes the man held her against him after really bad nightmares and while he was telling her these stories to help calm her down, she could hear his heart speed up a little when he spoke of her. True love, like in the movie Aiko had shown her. Y/n could even imagine what the woman looked like just off the details the man shared with her. Y/n closed her eyes and had a smile on her face as she listened and imagined an orange and yellow sky and the wind on her face and next to her was the man she so heavily relied on, and the most beautiful woman with beautiful eyes. Y/n fell into a deep sleep soon after.
After telling the story, Toji looks up to the dark abyss of a ceiling, he lets out a silent laugh, recalling the fond memory of a sunny beach day with Fushiguro-san. The way she built her beautifully structured sandcastle and laughed at Tojiâs sand dome. He looks back down to the girl who has already fallen asleep soundly. He goes over to his own futon and closes his eyes hoping to dream of the woman he loves.
Toji had a plan.
Get stronger, get the kid strong, bust out.
This was not part of his plan.
To be fair, he knew it wasnât much of a plan to begin with, Toji was not stupid, his veins ran with pure unfiltered hate for his clan that left him behind. However, killing his clan now will not change a damn thing. The jujutsu society as a whole was fucked, always has been, and will continue to be long after, so whatâs the point in the hassle of annihilating everyone? How would Fushiguro-san view him after it? The kid wouldn't mind, maybe? To be completely honest, he could have very well left the day they locked him in here, but he had to come up with a solution that didn't involve murder. The Zeninâs were happy to let toji leave, what they were not happy about was the fear that would eat them alive knowing this man was out there in the world. They wouldn't dare threaten him, but it isn't like he can just take the young girl without a confrontation either. The higher ups specifically kept her for their personal gain, they kept her to be a tool to hold over the Gojo clan to keep the balance of power in their favor. The only reason the Zeninâs agreed to this arrangement in the first place was because of their rivalry with the Gojo clan. Toji scoffed in disgust at the revelation that jujutsu society would turn upside down to find this young girl if he took her with him, just to get her back and treat her like the scum of the earth. A frustrated sigh leaves his scar ridden mouth as he looks over to the young girl in the dark, concrete, filth ridden room, who is exorcising her 3rd curse that day. He had never heard her voice before, but he didn't need to, the pure excitement on her face was enough for him to know that she was meant to live, and he would be the one to help her.

Chapter 1
2007.
For the last 10 minutes, Satoru had been in a heated discussion with Geto. Shoko had long ago left this conversation as the testosterone levels were way too much to bear.
While waiting for Yaga sensei, Satoru felt it. The presence of a curse he almost got up to investigate but he was frozen in place. What was this? A cursed technique? No it couldn't be, it was just pure cursed energy.
How could it be affecting him this way?
He was dumbfounded, he had never been left frozen where he stands by anyone let alone a presence from afar. Looking around his six eyes could tell this person was near.
âSuguru we got company.â He mumbled to his best friend.
Both boys kept their guard up and when the door slid open they did not expect to see yaga sensei
âWhereâs shoko? Yaga asked.
âWho knows?â
âMaybe the bathroom?â
âDoesn't matter,â Yaga continued. Satoru could sense this eerie presence outside, he sometimes felt this presence when he walked around jujutsu tech but having it so close by is suffocating but warm?
How could this be?
He was shaken out of his thoughts when he hears Yaga, â Shoko will not be joining you two this time.â
â Come in, âhe motions towards the door. Satoruâs eyes widen as he looks towards the door sliding open. His breath gets caught in his throat when he sees the person with the overwhelming aura, he could tell she seemed nervous. He couldn't believe this is what had him frozen in place.
She walked next to Yaga and slightly bowed toward the 2 boys in the desks, â Iâm Kaneko y//n, nice to meet you both.â
Did he hear that right? Kaneko? The clan that slaughtered themselves because of the very existence of this girl.
â Kaneko-kun will be joining you two on this mission, it will be her very first, but don't let that fool you, she is a very useful asset to have on your team.â Yaga declared.
â No offense but I don't really think I'm the type to babysit.â Satoru sneered, staring straight into your eyes. He couldn't understand , he had heard rumors of the Kaneko clan slaughter and he had heard you possessed the cursed eyes but they were nowhere to be found. You looked as though you wouldn't even hurt a fly, but with a power that could rival his he seemed offended at the fact that you seemed not only nervous but lacked confidence. This is no threat, he thought.
âSatoru- â Geto gave his friend a look that said be mindful.
Yaga motioned for you to have a seat, as you sit down you turn to see gojo satoru staring at you, it wasnât the scowl that you were expecting but instead youâre met with indifference.
âWhat with the faces ?â Yaga uttered with impatience.
âOh nothing,â Suguru laughed, covering for his friend.
âWell this mission is quite the responsibility, it comes from master tengen himself there are two objectives, Master tengen has found the perfect star plasma vessel, escort the girl and erase her.â
After the meeting you decided to leave immediately. You felt a little overwhelmed having never really interacted with many people. Nonetheless, you were left pondering over having finally met him.
So that was the blessed child you thought, pulling your uniform higher to cover your throat.
Arriving at your dorm, you begin to unbutton your uniform since you don't plan on leaving for the rest of the day. You laid on your bed and stared up at the ceiling.
When you were walking toward the classroom earlier you could feel how heavy his presence was. You couldn't lie to yourself and say you werenât nervous about this. You were from the Kaneko clan, famed for their cursed singing technique. From the moment you were born you were cursed, and no one let you forget that.
You didnât ask to be born and yet youâve been punished for it your whole life. Shunned, beaten, bruised, and the list goes on. You knew the only reason that the higher ups even allowed you to go on this mission was to test you.
You had grown older now and with some more training youâd be able to fully master your abilities, maybe even be able to pull off a domain, and they weren't too keen on the idea. You were aware that no one had trust or faith in you, sitting up, you walked up to the mirror opposite of your bed and took a look at yourself.
When you were younger you had always thought the seal on your throat was beautiful. The Kaneko clanâs seal of the songbirds, but now you canât help but tear up looking at the seal that was now mutilated by a huge gash running across your throat. You run your fingertips across the scarred skin,
âWhen you get outta here, give em hell kid.â
The memory of the man that saved you that day plagues your mind.
I will, You thought, iâll take down the Jujutsu hierarchy some day.
Clenching your fists, You could feel the emotion tightening in your chest. calm down, you thought. Looking back up in the mirror you can see your eyes change to red
No no no!
Breathe y/n . You take a couple steps back and close your eyes.
Think of flowers, think of cute kittens, think of anything but just calm down!
All you can think of are those crystal beautiful blue eyes that resemble what heaven would look like. Suddenly, your breathing starts to even but you can't hold back the tears that spill. The memories of your life for the past 17 years you tried so hard to suppress deep down often pop up in your mind. The vile words spoken to you, the beatings, having your throat slashed by members of the zenâin clan, being born with a famous technique would usually be celebrated within a clan.
Just look at the gojo clan with their limitless technique, or the zenâin clans ten shadows technique.
However, not only do you possess the seal of the songbirds, youâre a descendant of Kaneko Ren, possessor of the cursed eyes.
Hello! I do hope you are enjoying cursed child! I understand it is pretty slow at the start but don't worry it will start to pick up soon! Please dont be shy to message me or to ask to join the taglist either! See you in chapter 2!

chapter 2
You thought things were going well. This morning you had a little hiccup when you broke down but then again, who doesn't ?
So far on this journey you had saved Tengens vessel, who you now knew as Riko, right at the start from Q soldiers. She really had people coming for her head and yet when you looked at her there was nothing but a smile on her face. Here you are, waiting to escort this young girl to the end of her normal life and yet all that's laced on her face is a fake smile that she has perfected.
You took a liking to Riko, so when she asked to be taken to school you vouched for her. Much to Getoâs amusement and Gojoâs annoyance, Yaga sensei shared your sentiment and agreed that Riko should be able to enjoy school for the moment.
You stood outside the school a bit away from everyone. You couldnât help but try to envision yourself in Rikoâs position as you overheard Geto and Kuroi speaking on the matter.
âLady Riko does not have any relations,â Kuroi explained, â When she was younger her family was involved in an accidentâŚ. Since then I've been her caretaker. So please at least let her spend time with her frie-â
âSo that makes you her family then.â Geto sympathized.
You perked up hearing this. The topic of family has never really meant much to you. Your family was ashamed of you and ended their lives because of it. Looking back at your ancestors, you couldnât help but feel out of place and even a little uncomfortable when the topic came up. In a way you envied Riko for being able to have someone as caring as Kuroi by her side.
What you knew was violence, growing up after your family died, the jujutsu higher upâs decided to raise you at the school. Most of your memories are fuzzy, you really canât remember anything before the age of 5 due to the amount of beatings and the torture you had been exposed to, they called it âtheraputicâ to suppress the cursed eyes true power. The end goal was to use you as a weapon, their weapon, a cursed tool essentially.
The cursed eyes when paired with the Kaneko clanâs cursed singing technique has the ability to weaken the six eyes user almost to the point of immobility, almost.
The legend goes as follows, your ancestor Ren Kaneko was the partner of Ryomen Sukuna believe it or not. He was so enamoured with not only their technique but Ren herself, you arenât very sure how but he was able to enhance her and thus she was given the cursed eyes. Together they ruled and even had a family of their own. Ren eventually betrayed Sukuna and teamed up with the 3 clans and used her abilities to immobilize him, without her they would not have been able to succeed in defeating him. However, even though Ren contributed to his defeat, she had shed just as much blood as he did and therefore was banished. The Kaneko clan lived in the shadows of jujutsu society, hoping that one of their members would never inherit the cursed eyes, you could only imagine the disgust shown on their faces when you were born.
âY/n!â You look up from your thoughts to see Geto with a worried look on his face.
â We got company, you and Satoru head over to Riko.â
You look over to where you last saw Gojo only to see that he did not wait for you.
âSeriously ?!â You yell at him while you run over.
âI recall only agreeing to babysit the kid, not you too, so keep up y/n,â he teased.
âWell I don't recall giving you permission to call me by my first name.â You respond.
You see him smirk, but never looking at you as you run towards the double doors leading to Riko.
Despite your upbringing, you were patient.
Gojo Satoru was testing said patience.
Not only was he not a team player, at least with you he wasn't, but his lack of empathy in some situations was a lot, even for you, and now was one of those times.
Not only had you all just figured out Riko had a bounty on her head like 10 minutes ago, but Kuroi was taken. Despite your powers, you still hold anxiety when put into situations like this. You didnât care about your own life, you were expendable. Someone like Kuroi however was not, and seeing Gojo and Riko go at it made your chest ache, especially when you saw the way her knuckles turned white from her gripping her skirt. You placed your hand over hers and looked into her eyes.
âI- It'll all be okay, everyone just calm down, we should be getting a call from the kidnappers soon right?â
You look over to Geto who gives you a nod and with it, a smile.
You feel your cheeks heat up a bit and look back at Riko and do your best to imitate the smile Geto gave you hoping it reassures her.
âIf the kidnappers are smarter than we thought...â You both look up once you hear Gojo speak, â... And if taking you means that Kuroiâs chances of survival decrease, weâre gonna leave you behind.â
âUnderstood!â
You looked at Riko who looked like her flame was just ignited, she looked at you and gave you a smile while still holding her hand, this time it wasnât a fake one.
You had never traveled before.
You had never been anywhere other than Jujutsu tech and the Zenâin estate.
So when Kuroi was rescued and Gojo had suggested that you all take a day to go to the beach, you couldnât help but panic.
Riding a plane earlier this morning for the first time was already pushing your limits. Geto had offered to hold your hand during the ride which you gladly accepted as you were having a literal panic attack, all while Gojo was planning a trip itinerary as if this was a vacation. As you were trying to control your breathing however you couldn't help but notice that his eyes were stuck on your hands that were entwined with Getoâs.
â Y/n youâre stuck in your thoughts againnnnâ Riko whined as she looked at you with puppy eyes.
âLady Riko she probably isnât feeling too well from the flight this morning and then having to come save me, I thank you again Kaneko- san.â Kuroi said as she bowed.
âNo no! Iâm sorry you were taken in the first place Kuroi, and Iâm also sorry if it seems like my mind keeps wandering. I am a bit nervous since itâll be my first time at the beach.â You say as you browse the racks of bikinis. After getting Kuroi back you all realized that you didnât pack for the beach since it was a last minute stop. So Riko suggested you all go shopping beforehand.
âY/n this would look so good on you!â
You look over and see Riko holding a thin black bikini, instinctively you pull up your school uniform. You had seen women wearing bikinis in magazines in the Zenâin estate or on Tv the rare times that you were permitted to watch. To see one in person is a bit intimidating.
âRiko, I think it would suit you more, especially with this hat.â You put the hat over her head as it covers her eyes and you both laugh as Kuroi watches fondly.
âY/n I was wondering how come you donât really speak much in front of those two idiots.â Riko grinned.
You laugh, âThose two are idiots aren't they?â You say looking out the window of the store. You see Geto and Gojo sitting on a bench bickering about something as they wait for the three of you.
â For a very long time I was alone, â you say, still looking through the racks of clothes, â I had only met those two a day ago, it felt like I was intruding on their lives if I'm being honest. I don't have many good experiences with Jujutsu sorcerers so I prefer to keep my guard up around them. So far though, Geto has shown me nothing but encouragement and kindness and even respect, and you Riko have shown me what resilience and hope can look like, so thank you.â You say and stop when you see a high neck bikini top. You only turn when you hear sniffling coming from behind you only to see Riko tearing up.
âY/N! You can't just say that !â She runs towards you and takes your hands, â I am so happy to have met you y/n!â She looks out the window again and turns back to meet your eyes.
âWhat about the idiot with the glasses ?â she laughs.
You look out the window of the boutique to look at Gojo. During this entire mission you really haven't interacted much with him. When you did have interactions they were very minor. Being around him reminded you of the past that you keep trying to forget, in a way though, he saved you whether you like to admit it or not. If you had been born before him you would have been killed on sight with no hesitation. You are a tool only alive for the purpose of keeping him in check if it ever gets to that point.
However, what you have observed is that he is self centered, nonchalant, blunt, but most of all complex. At times he can show respect, especially towards Geto and you can't help but wonder if this detour to the beach wasn't just a âitâs right there so we might as wellâ type thing or could it be that he actually did this for Rikoâs sake?
âI think heâs a bit complicated.â was the only answer you could give the younger girl who looked up at you.
Looking up you couldn't help the tightening in your chest when you notice that he too is looking directly at you.
You never really thought much of life.
You didnât ever think there would be much of a life to experience due to your situation. You thought you were going to be locked up or eventually executed, things like trips to the beach had not ever crossed your mind and yet here you are. The ocean breeze felt like serenity, you had no idea what to do, for the first time in your life you weren't on edge. You picked an area in the sand and sat down running the sand through your fingers and looking out into the vast beautiful ocean.
âIt's just like he said it would be.â you mumbled to yourself.
âLike who said what?â You perk up and look at who the voice belonged to.
âOh I thought You and Riko were running around looking for little sea animals?â You inquired as he took a seat next to you in the sand. Looking at him, you couldn't help but feel that feeling in your chest tightening when you noticed how the sun reflected and showed off his eyes. What is this ? you think while bringing a hand to your heart.
âI got tired of chasing her, so she, suguru, and kuroi went to start building a sand castle, weâre staying in okinawa tonight and heading back to the school tomorrow by the way.â adjusting his sunglasses to better protect his eyes as he laid back in the sand, âbut what were you mumbling about before ? â
âOh it was nothingâ you brought your knees up to your chest feeling dumb. You didn't know how to feel about Gojo. Was he your enemy or comrade? In a sense he was both, in another sense he was neither.
âYou know,â he says, still laid back, âWeâre at the end of the line here and yet the only thing i know about you is that you have the cursed eyes which i have yet to see in battle, it seems like you don't want to use them huh?â
How could you argue with the truth? The cursed eyes activate on your command but you still have a long way to go before you can use itâs full potential. At times they can activate due to high levels of emotion and that's why itâs so important for you to be able to control your breathing. All those beatings and torture you endured in your childhood was to test your ability to suppress the activation of the cursed eyes. When they do activate, itâs like having the devil and angel on your shoulder, it takes over your whole soul and you need to have the mental strength to be able to always come out of it. Sometimes in certain situations you don't fully trust yourself or the people around you to be able to help if things go wrong.
âWhen I was youngerâŚ.â you hesitate before finally opening up, âI'm sure you're aware of where i've been and why i was put on this mission Gojo.â
You look over at him, as heâs still lying in the sand and he raises his hands and gives a clap. âNow weâre getting somewhere, I'm not fully aware of where you were before this point but I do know that those old geezers finally let you out so you could be their watchdog right?â He says showing his clear dislike and distrust in not only the higher ups but in you.
âAs rude as you are, I can't argue with you there.â You force out a sad laugh.
Even though he lacks trust, he can't help but sit up and look at you as if motioning for you to continue.
So you do.
You explained the painful horrendous crimes you succumbed to at the hands of the higher ups. Throughout your story you see his hands clenching but continue anyway. You were a survivor and yet still a prisoner not only in your own mind but in the real world. You knew you were powerful but lacked the confidence someone like Gojo had to use their abilities. You have also been locked up since you were a child, if you ever did try to go against the higher ups orders, you had nothing. No leverage, no support system, and no renowned clan to back you up. If anything they would probably send Gojo for your head and he knew this.
âWhy did they send you to the zenâin estate?â he questioned not meeting your eyes but rather looking out at the ocean.
You avoided going into detail about it when you were telling him your story but you should've known that he would catch on. You bring your hand up to your throat and close your eyes. He notices and scoots towards you but still keeping a distance.
âYou don't have to tell m-â
âNo... no it's okay... I'm okay.â You say opening your eyes and looking out into the sea, you look at the waves crashing into each other and look over at Gojoâs face, you canât help but see curiosity and a bit of worry mixed into it. The ocean breeze fills your senses and youâre brought back into your thoughts.
âI wasn't meeting their expectations, I couldn't control my emotions enough to not awaken the cursed eyes. When I awaken them on command itâs easier to just turn it off, like a switch. But when they are awakened unexpectedly by pure emotions it gets difficult to control. I-â
âSo they fucking abuse a kid and wonder why you cant control your emotions?!â he spat.
He knew the higher ups were unbelievable, but to think that this was what they were doing behind closed doors made him feel an unbelievable amount of anger. He was pulled out of his thoughts when he felt a hand on his. Satrou had lived a pretty privileged life, from the moment he was born all eyes were on him. He had notoriety, he scared adults as a child just with a glance in their direction, he was untouchable and he was strong and yet here you are. You suffered from his very existence and yet youâre the one trying to show him comfort.
You pull your hand away once his eyes are on yours and you feel your cheeks heat up a bit. You knew he disliked the way the higher ups decided things in jujutsu society but the hatred emitting from him was on another level.
âSorry , you can continue..â He said, looking away.
âNo itâs okay, um so yes I wasn't meeting their expectations so they thought sending me to the Zenâin estate would toughen me upâŚ.â You go quiet and in return this time itâs Gojoâs hand that's being placed on yours. You look up to see that he isn't looking in your direction but rather at the sun that'll be setting soon. Your chest tightened but it gave you the courage to continue.
âI spent a month there, it was no different from the way the higher ups did things, it was the same abuse but the difference was the higher ups knew when to stop.â You take a deep breath and look over at your hands that were entwined with Gojoâs. âThe zenâins couldn't understand why at the time i couldn't pair my cursed singing technique with my eyes yet, they got frustrated so they decided to put me in a sparring match with some members of their clan.â you whince recalling the memory. At only 8 years old you were up against 10 grown and highly trained jujutsu sorcerers, you had no chance and they knew it, you were fucked from the start. The moment you were born your life was cursed, your life was not your own.
âi...i..i obviously lost and when i did my p-punishment was-â You let go of Gojoâs hand and brought it to your throat. You couldn't help the tears that fell as you tried to breathe. The painful memory of your throat being slashed, you recall the pain, the desperation, and the helplessness as you laid in your own blood waiting for your life to end, hoping that it would so you wouldn't have to go through this misery of a life anymore. Your heart hammered in your chest and you couldn't help but hyperventilate, the pain was too much to bear.
Youâre brought back into the present when you hear his voice call your name, ây/n!â
You open your eyes and see Gojo inches from you and his hands are on either side of your face. Your breathing is rapid, heâs trying to speak but the ringing in your ears won't let you hear him. The pain in your chest is still prevalent, your breathing erratic, the tears cascading down your face. Your hands rush to cover your throat that you now notice has been exposed, did he pull the high neck down a bit?! Did he do it to help me breathe a bit? Wait no my scar! Heâll see it, everyone will!
The panic you were feeling in your throat was insurmountable. It isn't until he took off his glasses and looked into your eyes that your breathing faltered. The painful memories of your past abuse that have been spiraling in your head for years finally come to a halt. All your focus is set on the gorgeous blue eyes paired with long beautiful lashes in front of you, you have glanced at them from afar but up close they have just taken your breath away. Pretty is all you can think. You took in a deep breath, your tears no longer for the pain and misery you had endured but instead are for the heavens that you see in his eyes.
You feel his thumbs wipe away your tears and suddenly you're conscious again of the situation and where you are. You turn away quickly cursing at yourself for pushing your boundaries too far. After a couple of minutes of silence, you calm down and cover your neck back up, you quickly realize that the atmosphere is now too uncomfortable. How could you let this happen? He planned this trip to give Riko a chance at being happy before her inevitable doom and here you are basking in your sorrows. You feel a hand under your chin bringing you around to meet his face once again. not able to meet his eyes again Your cheeks glow red from embarrassment from you unraveling, but it quickly dissipates when you hear,
âSo you think I'm pretty?â
Youâre dumbfounded.
You finally meet his gaze and see that obnoxious smirk across his face.
âW-what?! Satoru are you-â
âOh and I see weâre now on a first name basis, y/n.â He teased recalling what had happened the day prior.
Pretty? You said that in the comfort of your own mind, unless you were so out of it you said it out loud. You mentally curse yourself for giving this man an ego boost during a time where you are very vulnerable. You can't help but feel a twinge of anger at him for making a joke at this time. You're prepared to get up when he takes hold of your hand, you glance over at him only to find him staring straight ahead. You look in the direction and see that the sun is setting. The beautiful array of orange and pinks and even some purple riddle the sky.
âIt won't happen again.â he said sternly, voice deep. The shift in his demeanor took you by surprise. You had only known this man for less than 2 days and yet the serious look on his face was something you never expected from him.
âWhat are you talking about?â You ask, he was just joking a moment ago, you thought.
âWhat they did to you. It won't happen again,â His grip on your hand tightens as the sun finally sets, â I promise you.â
After you and satoruâs moment on the beach you two met up with the rest of the group and had dinner.
You never ate with a group of people before so for the majority of dinner you sat and just listened to Riko and Satoruâs banter. You looked around and noticed Geto and Kuroi laughing and couldn't help the warm sensation you had in your heart when you looked around the table. Seeing Riko throw a fit over Satoru adding spices to her food, made you laugh like you never had before. You never knew you could laugh this way, and neither did everyone else. You stopped when you noticed everyone looking at you.
âY/n you have the prettiest freaking laugh iâve ever heard!â Riko couldn't help her excitement at finally seeing you engage with everyone and not just her.
âI second that opinionâ You turn to see geto giving you a smile. You blush at this gesture.
âWell if everyoneâs done with their meals I have something else planned.â Satoru said grinning as geto gives him an irritated look. Riko can't help but scream in excitement as he announces that weâll be going to the aquarium.
âIsn't that a big fish tank?â You inquire, this throws Riko and Gojo into a fit of laughter while Geto looks at you sympathetically.
âEssentially, yes it is Y/n. don't mind those two, they share one brain cell.â He says loud enough for them to hear. Right as heâs about to say more to them, everyone stops what they're doing once again when they hear your angelic laugh.
âI⌠i don't mind at all.â You give the most genuine smile to everyone and head over to the exit of the restaurant. Along with the gleam in his eyes, satoru can't help the warm feeling in his chest grow as he watches you walk away.
Fear raced through your heart when looking at the animals in the tanks
This is what's in our oceans?! Geto also informed you earlier that apparently only 5% of the ocean has been explored. Your new fear has been unlocked. Looking around, everyone seems to be off in their own worlds.
You wanted to go over and speak to Riko who looked beautiful in her black gown, but you decided against it when you realized she seemed to be in deep thought. You turn back and see your reflection in the fish tank, you opted to go for your usual turtleneck and layered a pinafore dress on top. Your eyes try to focus on the sharks swimming in front of you but you notice a tall figure standing behind you in the reflection. You turn to see Satoru looking down at you instead of looking at the sharks swimming around you two in their tanks. You both don't say a word to each other as satoru comes to stand by your side, you just watch the marine life in front of you, enjoying each other's company in silence. You glance over at him and the blue glow reflecting on his face from the water is a sight to see, so much so that you can't look away.
âYou never told me how you got out of there, you don't have to finish, Iâm just shocked that you survived.â His bluntness at this point wasn't a bother to you. You actually appreciated it.
âAfter the incident, I woke up later in a dark room, I obviously couldn't speak but there was someone else in there with me..â You smiled remembering the man who made you who you are today, your savior. You don't have many memories of him, you don't even remember his name, but he is the reason you survived the hell you endured in the zenâin estate.
âHe helped me when I couldn't help myself, he told me stories about the woman he loved and wanted to marry once he got out of the zenâin estate. She sounded too good to be true. If I'm being honest, she seemed like such a wonderful woman so I strive to be like her.â No matter how hard you tried you couldn't hide your happiness when recalling these memories and satoru noticed this. He saw life come back into your eyes as you recalled those rare happy moments.
âHe helped me get strong enough to the point where I was able to leave. I never saw him again though, come to think of it he never even really told me his name.â you sighed frustratingly. Looking over at Satoru you can see a hint of a smile and you didn't even notice that you two gravitated toward each other during the course of your story.
âWell, I do remember one thing about him though,â Satoru looks at you with curiosity in his eyes. You smile before looking back into the tank to see two sharks circling a fish, âIt was dark but the few times I was able to see him, he did have a small scar on the corner of his mouth.â

Chapter 1
See you in chapter 2!
so i read the prologue carefully to make sure i understood the plot LOL so looking back to the conversation amongst the elders ..âsir I must disagree with you, having a child with the eyes of Ryomen Sukunaâs partner in our care would be a disgrace to our traditional valuesâ
does that make sukuna y/nâs ancestor of some sort ? bloodline looking real crazy rn woah
good catch đ more about this will be explained later !
