Oh, really? A shame about that! If you need help unpacking just let me know and I’ll see if I can come by on one of my days off! I haven’t really picked up any hobbies to do around here yet, so I’m mostly free.

Tea and… apples?! Sounds like a tea party, I’m so in! Just say the word and I can see if I can smuggle in a few apples from the Inn’s Kitchen… I just hope Kai won’t mind! /Laughs./ Maybe a few pastries, too! … Or did you just mean a visit to the cafe or bakery? /Boinks her own head, cue silly grin./

Thanks a lot for the offer, but I think I'm pretty much all moved in by now. If I ever need help redecorating though, I'll be sure to ask if you're still up for helping out, and if you ever feel bored, you're more than welcome to drop by the clinic for a chat.

As for a tea party, well I don't mind where we go. It would be nice to visit the local bakeries and café though, since I'm kinda new in town, and I don't really know what's good to order ^^;

Ah, hello there. Haha, I haven't been meeting too many people recently - busy with unpacking clinic supplies and personal things, so I'm afraid no-one's had the chance. Not that I've been very good at giving gifts either, whoops. 

It's very nice to meet you though! Perhaps when we're both not busy we could go for tea and apples some time, haha.

SPEAKING OF THE CHURCH there could be the faint sight of a certain priest running from there to the Clinic, covering his hand frantically as if he had been bitten by some radioactive spider or even tasted by a vampire.

"We'll see after a closer look." Tali replied, turning on one of the hanging lights. She couldn't help but chuckle slightly at his expression - it was the gloves, wasn't it? It was always amusing to see how men worried they were going places they weren't comfortable with. Private places. The bulb flashed briefly before flooding the room with artificial light. Gloves? Check. Lights? Check. Everything ready to go.

"May I?" She didn't really wait for a reply, taking his hands in her own, holding them up and into the light. You could tell quite a lot about a person by their hands, she thought. Non-calloused, reasonably smooth - the man probably had never done a day's manual labour in his life, not that she had any room to speak - pale - too much time indoors -

Ah! There we go, the bumps on the back of the hand, just like he said. She pressed gently on the irritated skin with the flat of her thumb, testing its (and his) reaction.

"Has it been itchy at all? Bleeding, sneezing, cold-like symptoms? Any other rashes anywhere else?" She enquired, glancing back up at him. "I need to know so I can make a diagnosis."

That frantic expression matched his frenzied movements before he swung the door open and stayed quiet. In fact, he ceased all movement as he saw the boxes and the woman just there. Just sitting. Sitting. His mouth stayed agape the entire time he was staring at her, waiting to form his words.

…… No don’t get distracted by asinine questions about why her hair seemed so unholy tainted hair should not be that color the LORD only permitted the basic foundations of the color sca—

“I THINK I-I-I-I HAVE A-A-A D-D-DISEASE!!”

He announced rather loudly, rushing over to the woman and lightly placing his hands on her desk despite the severity of the situation. Such a woman of medical technology would need an explanation, right? Right?? Okay!!

“I-I-I HAVE C-C-C-C-CONSUMED S-S-SOMETHING FROM T-THAT PRESUMPTUOUS A-AND B-BARE W-W-WITCH FROM THE DEEP D-D-DEPTHS O-OF THE W-W-WOODS AND I-I HAVE C-C-C-COME TO R-R-REALIZE T-THAT THERE ARE B-BUMPS AND D-D-D-D-DOTS ATOP MY SKIN DEAR LORD—”

“By the father, the sun, and the holy ghost, Amen.”

He took hold of his rosary in an abrupt stop of his yelling before—

“C-C-CHICKEN POX.“

What she initially thought was a hurricane that had come crashing into her corner of tranquillity had actually turned out to just be a rather panicked and frantic man. The speed with which he talked was somewhat amazing, and took Tali a couple of moments to fully process what he was talking about in the first place, since he had caught her completely off guard.

Click. The kettle had finished.

"Sir, perhaps it would be best if you took a few moments to calm yourself and then, with your permission, I might be able to examine the problem?" She tried giving him what she thought was a reassuring smile before turning to the desk. Now where had she put them... she was sure she'd already unpacked the- aha! She smiled a little wider as she fished the latex gloves out from the draw and put them on. After all, it was rule number one of being a doctor; always remember to wear gloves.

She rose from her seat and moved out from behind the desk, making a move towards the area separated off from the rest of the room by  long green screen. It was only standing that she finally noticed his clothing - formal, clean, rosary - he must have been some sort of religious follower.

"Tell me, sir, have you ever had chicken pox before?" Her voice was calm despite the almost petrified look on the man's face. This was what she was trained for, being confident in dire situations. Or at least, that's what she hoped she came across as instead of arrogant. That wouldn't do very well for doctor/patient relations now, would it.

"Also, if you wouldn't mind being seated?" She pulled back the screen, gesturing towards the examination seat just beyond.

The kettle hummed to itself quietly in the corner as Tali finished stacking the last of the moving boxes inside the clinic.

"Phew, that should be the last of the boxes. I never knew I had so much stuff."

The young woman mused as she leant against the neatly stacked pile of boxes, raising a hand to move her fringe out of her face briefly. It had been a challenge to move all the cubes of brown and duct-tape into the clinic, and it would be even more of one to sort out which boxes held her personal effects and which ones contained clinic equipment. She'd made sure to ask the medical associate for some new microscopes and medicines when she'd agreed to take up the position, but now she was regretting putting both loads into the same van.

She sighed a little as she picked up a box at random and put it on the desk. Who would have thought moving would be such a hassle? She still had yet to check the clinic was properly clean, though, by the looks of it, it didn't seem like there would be much to do. Whoever had been here previously had certainly cared about the place.

At least the town seemed nice. A quaint little place just far enough from anywhere to be untouched by the big cities, but close enough that getting extra supplies wouldn't be an issue. A bit quiet for her liking, but it would be a nice place to start out her career.

She gazed out of the window, watching the people walk about the town - her first patients. A view of the church, and just off in the distance, glittering in the warm light, the sea. She could see it better from her apartment just upstairs, but this would do wonders for those unlucky enough to be confined to a bed here for a few days.

She sunk into the chair besides the desk and stretched, still waiting for the kettle.

Well this was awkward.

Left alone inside the Cafe, Marina could only slump over the counter as she didn’t see any potential customers coming their way. Which someone would normally wouldn’t even mind in her position —not having to do anything— but the lack of movement and talking among other...

A curious red-head stepped through, glancing upwards at the chime of the bell before turning her attention to the girl over at the counter. She seemed somewhat startled by her presence, as if the woman had interrupted her daydream. Tali couldn't help but chuckle slightly.

"Hello to you too Miss." She smiled warmly at the girl as she stepped further in, continuing her visual tour of the premises.

It seemed cosy in here, a good place to relax and read over medical journals in the afternoons perhaps, just like back at the teaching hospital. However, the place seemed to be lacking... well... people. Villages were small but Tali would have guessed that there would at least be a couple more people around. Still, it was as good a place as any to start off with.

"Quite quiet in here, isn't it?"

Oh dear...

[What an oddity! That can't be good, not by a long shot. Perhaps it's a pre-existing condition. Her expression softens as she rummages around in her pocket.]

Pinch the bridge of your nose and tilt your head backwards - it should slow the flow of blood.

[She offers him a pristine hanker-chief, the initials 'T.V.' sown into one of the corners in blue thread. It smells faintly of lemons and disinfectant, a curious combination.]

We wouldn't want you fainting now, hmm?
