What is it that you like about jazz?

A lot of things.  The complexity of the rhythms, the way the musical improvisation comes through, the way the instruments sound as they create those complex melodies. . . 

Plus it’s just a nice thing to always have playing and jive to.  Especially the more ‘smooth jazz’ people have going on today.  Not as exciting but pretty chill

P.S. @aizensamasuggestions If the subject matter alone does not suffice to compel you to secure a purchase of this (admittedly rather expensive) limited edition rarity – of which, I do not hesitate to admit, even we had considerable difficulty sourcing an additional copy –  Tenchou encourages me to point out that the novel is so replete with scenes of an adult nature between the two protagonists that one might describe the book as what they call a ‘one-handed reader’. By which, I suppose, Tenchou is being considerate of your currently somewhat restrained position. I’m sure someone will be able to prop the book under one of your hands.

Back in the gold old days?  Weeellll . . . one of Aizen’s first parties as an Lieutenant, he got super drunk.  I had a fun time teasing him in front of the other captains and making him do embarassing things like stupid dancing and karaoke.  So I made him dance with me.  That was a riot lemme tell ya.

I have two points of commentary.

First and foremost, I would be most surprised if @shunsuisuggestions (or, perhaps, more accurately @nanaosuggestions) allowed four members of my former army to attend a Captain’s Meeting inside the Seireitei, which is literally surrounded by a barrier to KEEP OUT Hollows (among other less desirable elements.)

But, perhaps they will allow it. The Gotei 13 has been known to do far stupider things.

Second point: If you’re having a party for the month of August, you would do well to remember these other comrades’ birthdays:

August 1: @hiyorisuggestions and, thusly, also Kubikiri Orochi.

August 2: @isanesuggestions and Itegumo.

August 14: @shuuheisuggestions and Kazeshini.

August 31 @renjisuggestions and Zabimaru.

Not, that I have all of the birthdays and zanpakuto of every member of the Gotei memorized, but I have all the birthdays and zanpakuto of every member of the Gotei memorized.

@harribel-suggestions​ – well, I won’t deny that @aizensamasuggestions​ is at least partially correct, in that Seireitei is pretty heavily warded, and the barriers aren’t something that I can drop (or authorise to drop, rather, it’s more a job for the Kido Corps than me) that easily outside of emergency situations.

And frankly, stupid or not (though I am a foolish old man, thanks for noting that, Sousuke-kun), captain meetings are… really boring. I wouldn’t subject anyone else to that unless necessary.

On the other hand, though, I don’t see why anyone should be excluded from a good party, if it’s just a matter of venue! Although this is the point where I turn things over to @nanaosuggestions, since Nanao-chan has repeatedly banned me from even thinking about planning anything without her around – I’m not entirely sure why, but I think “excessive budget skew towards sake” featured somewhere in her lectures?

Also – not saying that’s creepy of you, Sousuke-kun, but it’s creepy of you. But I’ll be certain to increase the amount of cake accordingly, fear not!

I did _not_, though not for the reasons you might suspect.  

As I’m sure you are well aware, @uraharasuggestions‘s birthday falls on December 31 and @yoruichisuggestions‘s is January 1. So, in a sense they are both New Year’s babies.

New Year’s was a particularly busy time in the Fifth Division, as it is everywhere. @hirakosuggestions often organized mochi pounding activities and group visits to various temples around the Seireitei to ring bells and such like. He also, I suspect for reasons of never trusting me, tended to send me around the Gotei delivering all of the Division’s New Year’s postcards. 

Thus, I never had the opportunity to bring either of them birthday cakes and/or presents.

To be perfectly honest, even if I had had the time, I preferred to keep my distance from the Onmitsukidō. 

Especially back then.

Hey I think maybe @hiyorisuggestions and Hacchi can hook us up with a nice barrier-protected place somewhere in the human world away from everyone.  Hacchi’s barriers are top notch when it comes to hiding spiritual pressure and keeping out prying eyes.  Cause, hell, I’m always up for a good party.  Just get some planning in place and we can have a hell of a time.

And also let’s make it an August bash.  More excuses to party.
