Actually how could anyone not like European history. The Middle Ages lived in the ruins of the Roman Empire. The Black Death kickstarted the renaissance. People were just living along with the manuscripts and buildings of a great empire, and Latin was evolving into languages. The Middle Ages were still a time of great innovation and change. Guilds were formed and patronage became a system.
may or may not have bought a loom. erm. stay tuned ig
gadzooks! my game? It be'eth changed!
i can officially name the sequence of the first 36 roman emperors
reading iphigenia in aulis for the first time and. damn.
whenever i start feeling bad about how I'm drawing mail i just remember this manuscript and instantly feel better
as someone studying classics i find roman naming conventions fascinating, as someone prepping for an exam i need less dead guys to have the same name
update: just learned i have to know the sequence of ALL the emperors. fuck.
There is fundamentally no such thing as apolitical art.
Politics affect people. Political policies kill people.
Art is about people.
Your politics and your art are two different manifestations of what you think of other people. If you communicate a care for others in your art, you have to act on that care by means of political involvement. When you insist upon the value of ‘apolitical art’, you are just ignoring your responsibility to act on your convictions.
