Snakes and Sinners

Tsukishima let himself in, curiosity hiding behind apparent ease. As if heâd been there a thousand times before and this was nothing new, he closed to door behind him and sauntered lazily down the hall to where the shinigami sat with an extra place setting. For him? How odd.
His long legs folded elegantly as he took his place, and he wrapped his hands around the cup with a smile. âI would argue that I havenât stooped to making myself at home just yet. Although it seems youâre taking the initiative in that regard,â his voice spoke of amused approval.
The scent of green tea wafted up, and Tsukishima took a moment to enjoy the scent with his eyes closed. It wasnât coffee, but it was still enjoyable. Part of his attention remained on his neighbor, however, and he opened his eyes to pin the other man under his whiskey stare.Â
âNow you wouldnât be trying to poison me or something, would you?â He sat the tea cup down on the table, long fingers tracing soft circles into the warm ceramic. âI find this interaction to be a bit too civil to be taken at face value, as Iâm sure you can understand.â
âPoison?â while it would be pure falsehood to say the thought hadnât crossed Ginâs mind it felt...too easy. Not to mention the whiskey eyed man was proving the snakes other thought on the matter, it would be seen through easily. It didnât stop the shinigami from sipping out of his own cup as his neighbor inspected the cup rightfully suspicious of it. One white eyebrow raised and Gin opened an eye and decided to make a ârelaxedâ statement of his own. To match how casually the thin man referenced that Gin might try to poison him.
âIf I decided I wanted ta kill ya, Iâd want ta taste yer blood off my steel as ya died. I find that ya do as it pains me ta admit rate beyond somethinâ as simple as the trickery of poison. Drink it, donât I really donât care...but itâs good te youâll be wastinâ fer no reason.â there was a small tray of tea cakes placed in the center of the room the single open azure eye watching the dark haired man cautiously.
âThose ainât poisoned either if yer wonderin that too, I donât like ya not one bit....but I figured...if yer gonna let yerself in...thereâs plenty a tea inâa pot fer two. Ya make a point ta bother me whenever ya can spare the time....since yer so âconsiderateâ Iâm just returninâ the favor.â
