she should’ve brought a map with her-- wendy knew from the beginning that she was not a type of person who could remember some things easily and even though she had been visiting marigold for so many times already, somehow she just could not remember the road here and there. wendy was in a big trouble for sure. . . . one question, why there was no one around there beside of... chickens? what kind of nightmare is this, she thought. it wasn’t like she hated chicken or anything, but why she felt like the chickens were giving her dead glare for no particular reason?
narrowing her eyes a little bit, she just couldn’t take this anymore--- with one hard stomp on the ground, following by a loud voice from the female. she basically threw a dead glare back to the chickens. why she was having a fight with chickens to begin with? sigh.
“Yah! what are you guys looking at?!”
one second, two seconds, and three--- the chickens began to moving their wings roughly and (somehow) jump to wendy’s direction at all once together. and without she noticing about the pain or what just happened basically, she found herself on the ground with a bleeding leg and super dirty clothes because of the chicken attack. today must be not her lucky day.
she mumbled more toward herself, running with all of her energy to the direction of the beach in yongdam village. she didn’t know what was wrong with her but for some reasons, she found out that she was one hour late for work. it was 8 AM already and she was supposed to open the place on 7 AM- wendy was a dead meat now, she could feel it for sure. even though she doubt that hyemi would get mad at her for being late, because yeah- the owner of seabreeze could be too nice sometimes- but still! wendy would totally feel bad because of all of this.
without her knowing about it, she was actually wrong.
the night before, she changed her clock into one hour earlier on purpose, with a plan that she could wake up earlier on the next day- but being a forgetful person like the usual, she really thought that she was late when she was... well, actually no- she wasn’t late. it was 6.30 in the morning while in wendy’s brain, she thought it was 8 already. finally arriving in front of the door of sea breeze, the brown haired female was trying her best to control her breath as she slowly tried to open the door- wait, it’s unlocked already? and as soon as she opened the door, she directly met with hyemi’s beautiful eyes. with still a thought that she was late, she quickly bowed down deeply.
“i’m sorry for being late !!! it won’t happen again !!”
“sorry for making you help me with all of this trouble- i don’t think i can thank you enough.” with a deep sigh escaping her lips, wendy let her body fell to the ground with a thump. she was sweating like crazy, probably because this summer was too hot for her own liking. she was tired, yes. but in the same time, she was satisfied with the result.
right there in front of them, different colour of roses were placed inside a vase. because wendy wanted to have unusual colour of rose in the first place, she decided to paint some of it. she knew from the beginning that her painting skills were not good and she had no idea what colour to choose- so asking someone from the flower shop was definitely the best idea. and she was right! thank harvest godness that ten was there to help her because she probably couldn’t finish everything all by her own in time. “today is my grandma’s birthday and i just want to give something special, you know? thanks again for helping me. feel free to come to seabreeze anytime you want and i’ll treat you there!”
“of course! let’s say…. i’m the ms. right from yongdam !! look how cool that nickname is, it suits me pretty well. you can call me that from now on.” grinning so bright like a kid in christmas, wendy obviously could not control her happiness the moment she held the cute puppy with her arms. leaning closer to kiss the puppy’s nose gently, she finally threw her attention to the unfamiliar man in front of her. “he was chasing you before, right? i’m sure he just wanted a hug from you- i don’t think he would bite you or anything. i mean, look at this angelic look.” now holding the puppy right in front of her face, she peeked from behind with a grin. “look, look. he’s trying to say sorry! i’m sorry, mr— uh, what’s your name again?”
“i honestly don’t think i can pull the bright side from this situation, unnie.” playing with the end of her own ponytail nervously, wendy averted her gaze elsewhere and tried her best not to make any eyecontact with the older female- signalling that she was pretty nervous to talk about this kind of topic. but she just needed to let it all out, before it’s all too late. “i’m glad that everyone is so welcoming, especially with knowing that i used to spend my childhood here. but the one who spent her childhood here was not me, it was seungwan !! i feel like they just can’t accept the new son wendy. it’s all about seungwan this and seungwan that- but i’m not her, everyone knows that.”
Namjoon got off early today and actually made it home before dinner, which was one of those rare occurances that did almost never happen when he was on his afternoon shift. But once he stepped into the inn, closing the door behind him, he was greeted by the lovely lady that kept the inn. She smiled brightly and waved him over.
"Namjoon-ssi, would you do me a favor? Could you bring these rice cakes to mrs. Son down the street for me?“
Namjoon absolutely adored her and had ran errands between the two before, of course he couldn’t decline her. So he took the plasic bag with the rice cakes inside and made his way outside again, getting on his bike and riding it to where old lady Son lived.
He parked his bike outside the front garden and got off, walking up to the front door and rang the bell, before getting the key from under the flower pot beside the steps. She instructed him to just use the key and get on inside next time he came to give her something, because her old age didn’t allow her to get over to the door quickly and open the door herself. At first he was hesitant to do so, eventhough he still did it, because it felt like intruding, but after a few more time he kind of got used to it and it didn’t feel wrong anymore. It was like everything in Yongdam, everyone was very kind and inviting and welcoming and he felt at home in the region. Marigold was the same, but actually a bit larger than Yongdam of course. And it did help that mrs. Son was very kind and liked the company.
He opened the door and got inside, walking straight to the living room where mrs. Son sat in her chair making a word puzzle.
"Ah, Namjoon-ah, good afternoon my boy. What brings you here today? Do you want a cup of tea?”
Namjoon smiled fondly at her, and set the bag of rice cakes down on the coffee table in front of her. He adored mrs. Son, she was nice and she reminded him of his own grandmother before she passed away.
"Good afternoon, mrs. Son. Mrs. Im asked me to bring these home made pounded rice cakes over, so I came here to give these to you.“ He smiled and bowed. She got up to go and get him some tea, but he ushered her down and told her that he would get a cup of tea himself instead. He was just in the kitchen, answering mrs. Son’s question about how his work was going and setting a pot of tea for the both of them, when he heard the living room door open by an unknown person, so immediatly on high alert by the unexpected person in the house, he walked back out into the living room just to be greeted by—
wendy obviously knew that summer was supposed to be hot, but she didn’t expect that yongdam’s summer would be this hot! and she was sure that her body was going to melt in any seconds- what kind of place is this? i feel like i’m in hell, she thought while kept fanning herself with her hand. “why don’t you just take a cold shower? it’ll help your hell situation, dear.” eyes widening at her grandma’s words, it was honestly so funny and quiet amusing how easy for her grandma to read wendy’s expression. when she asked why she know her so well, her grandma’s answer would always be the same. because you are my seungwan, she said. sigh.
taking her grandma’s suggestion to take a shower, wendy made herself back to her own room to grab her blue towel and some bathing things she usually use, oh and she didn’t forget to bring her ipod along because music was a must for her while taking a shower. bless this village technology- and please notice the sarcasm there. just like an usual teenanger’s life, wendy took like 15 minutes- maybe almost half an hour to take a shower. being a forgetful person like always, the brown haired female managed to forget about clothes that she was supposed to change to. with a light shrug from her shoulder, there was nothing to worry because it was probably her grandma out there- for crying out loud, she even had enough with that old lady showing her baby pictures, full naked. it was not a surprise, not at all.
holding up her wet hair into a ponytail with one hand while the other one succeed with wrapping the blue towel around her body, the young lady opened the door with a sigh- only to find a pair of eyes staring at her in alert. it felt like the world had stopped between those two, and neither of them seemed to know what to say or what to do at the current situation. having a staring war with the male, wendy’s mouth made a big ‘o’ shape- and without her realizing about it, she had grabbed the nearest small vase and threw it namjoon’s direction. one, two, three, and scream.
“burglar !!! and stop staring at me, you pervert !!”
- “So the first thing we’re going to do —is push you off the roof.” ;
“did you hit your head too hard this morning? stop trying to kill me- hey !! don’t you dare to let go of my hand! if you dare to do that, you’ll be the first person i haunt afterlife.” screaming here and there, wendy just could not stop herself from trying to kill namjoon’s arm with holding it so tightly, why this rooftop was so slippery to begin with? many random questions crossed her mind and she just couldn’t focus anymore, so holding onto something- no, someone was the best option for now. “i knew from the beginning that asking you to watch the stars was a bad idea. never again.”
“and what kind of creature do you think i am? i’m human too !! godness, can you just stop screaming here and there? i know it hurts, okay? sorry for teasing you, i didn’t know you were in…. this kind of mood.” rubbing the back of her head nervously while throwing her attention somewhere else, wendy tried her best to avoid an eye contact with the other female as much as possible. one second, two seconds, …. one minute had passed and neither of them had a courage to utter a word until wendy finally let out a small awkward cough, breaking the silence carefully. “i’m sorry- i really didn’t mean to.”
her mouth made a big ‘o’ shape and it was so obvious how surprised she was at his reply, but of course everyone had different opinion about this kind of thing. tapping the ground with one foot, wendy crossed her arms over her chest while frowning deeply. “but don’t you think so? i mean, how can villagers here be so calm when they know there is a witch, someone who can do magic and turn you into a frog in one swing of magic wand, living around here ??? godness, should i pack my things and run away from this place? but again, grandma needs me and i need her- this becomes a cliche story. but anyway, we definitely need to do something about this whole witch thing! i can’t stay calm anymore !!”
“but but but !! did you see this charming smile ?? his smile can light up my whole world- and yes, you should agree with me on this one.” narrowing her eyes at nara for a few seconds, wendy soon pulled her attention back to the picture of one handsome man she was holding with both of her hands. “haaa, i miss seoul so much- there, i basically can see him everyday, literally everyday. because you know, he’s an idol and everyone loves him. if only i can access more picture of him here…. oh wait.” turning her head to the right only to make an eye contact with the other female, she raised her eyebrow in a curious way. “you aren’t into this kind of thing, are you?”
so yeah, hello? i don’t know what to say because i’m such a dork but hello !!! you really don’t know how excited i am because hARVEST MOON IS MY LIFE- like, my favorite game ever and my heart can’t take this anymore. anyway, i’m hana and i’m the typist behind this sunshine girl, wendy! feel free to bother her anytime because she’s actually just a lonely potato who has an amnesia because of an accident. to know more, just click here. because i’m such an lazy ass, i haven’t set up the plots page but here some ideas from me! feel free to discuss about something else because why not?????
thanks for saving me
i’m sorry, that time i wasn’t thinking straight. i didn’t even know how i found myself on the edge of the beach port, like really the end of it. i remember how blank my expression was, and without me noticing about it- my body slowly falling to the direction of the water then splash !!!
i thought my life would end that moment, i just thought i finally could see my father and mother. but then, your hand was the one who stopped me from…this mess.

you visit the beach often, right? uh, no no no! it’s not like that, i’m definitely not a stalker! for some reasons, i always see you through the sea breeze’s window- like when i wipe the window with a cloth, or even when i’m handling the cashier- and i’m always curious about… what kind of person you are. i never really had a chance to interact and i end up staring at you from afar. sorry, i’m weird.
