Japan Headcanons (Slight Angst)
There are three Japans. The oldest is the former Japan Empire, who embodies most of the culture and traditions of the Japanese. She's a kitsune spirit, and the only one with nine tails. Because of this she possesses fire magic. She has two white fox ears with red tips, and seven red and white striped tails.
In WWII, after the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, she was dying. To save herself, she essentially rid herself of the two cities, creating two other Japans. They're much younger and smaller, called Hiro and Naga.
Hiro and Naga are also kitsunes, with one tail each, and no fire magic. They both represent more modern customs and traditions, as well as pop culture.
Japan, or Nihon(日本), is normally calm and collected, as well as spiritual and kind to those she likes. She can be callous, and rarely aggressive, but that's reserved for her enemies. She greatly dislikes America and Russia, but considers China an old friend. She shows no remorse for her actions as an empire, and is still partial to the mindset that comes with conquering land.
Pan, or Hiroshima(広島市), is incredibly shy and skidish, preferring to spend his time working or reading away from others. His fear of most things comes from the bombing, and he tends to avoid Nihon due to fear of her power. He's intelligent and loves to learn. He spends most of his time with North Korea and China, rather than Naga and South Korea. He's scared of America and Russia. He paints in his free time, and is very good at it. He suffers from vivid nightmares, leading him to avoid sleep.
Jap, or Nagasaki(長崎), is more pop culture than Hiro, enjoying gaming, anime, and manga. She's loud and outgoing, unafraid to stand up for her beliefs and constantly getting into a fair amount of trouble. She avoids Nihon as well, preferring to spend her time with South Korea and America. She considers America and Russia friends, although the trauma from the bombing is still there. She loves photography and writing, and suffers from insomnia.
