If that scene didn't exist, we'd have another "Can't men just be friends???" fucking debate over this show, fucking one hour video essays about queerbaiting.

This scene is so important. I think a lot of us wouldn't be in this fandom if The Kiss hadn't happened.

Exactly this. The Kiss™ is more than just a kiss for Stede and Ed. It is a healing balm for decades worth of Queerbaiting.

I have said it many times, and surely will again. Shows like Heartstopper and OFMD will always be bittersweet for me, as someone who has been burned so badly in the Sherlock fandom.

We had Sherlock scripts in the past!

Everyone has seen the Sherlock scripts the BBC just released, but something that might interest y'all is that we have had at least some version of a script for almost every episode for years before this! I've kept copies in a database I've been slowly working on since 2015, and we were only missing scripts for the unaired pilot, the mini-episode between S2 and S3 called Many Happy Returns, TAB (although iirc an anti-TJLCer bought a paper copy in an auction and afaik did not choose to share it online? link me if I'm wrong), T6T, and TFP.

There are different versions of scripts, so the versions we had before might not be the same as the ones that were just released. Any differences are potentially interesting!

I'm dealing with a family crisis rn unfortunately so it'll be a bit before I can read the new batch of scripts myself, BUT I would love it if any of you want to compare the scripts that were just released to the ones I have saved and let us know what you find! Are they the same, are they different?

ALSO, I have no idea where I got these because I've lost the paper trail over the years. If anyone wants to credit their origin, PLEASE let me know and I'll update this post.

I don’t have the energy to submit myself to this hell again, BUT if helpful if anyone is comparing, when scripts are revised there is an industry standard order of revisions.

You start with drafts in pre-production (and revisions will be numbered, 1,2,3 or some other numbered/lettered way. Just before you start shooting they release the white shooting script. Any revisions from them on will go in this order: blue,pink,yellow,green,goldenrod,etc- you can look it up. These revisions always happen during production. It is possible for a revised script to be released before those revised scenes are shot, but sometimes changes will happen on the day and these revisions will be reflected in a future official script revision. Any time you see asterisks next to a line, those are the lines revised in that particular script revision. The colour revision can be found on the front page of the script and in the header of each script page. Not sure of this helps but it would provide info on which scripts were more original (whether that be BBC or the archived ones loudest has here).

listen. aging into your thirties rocks. yes your joints get a little creaky. yes you can’t sleep in a pretzel on the floor anymore after a concert or a convention. and you lose some friends. but the thing is that you sort out who your real friends are and you sort out who you really are. and you get to see your friends settling into careers they like, and adopt new dogs and cats, and you find a job you can stand, and get really good at arts and crafts, and maybe that book you loved as a kid gets a movie deal and it doesn’t suck, and you learn to like new food and bake your own bread, and you realize that the great portfolio of self harm scars you all used to curate are going white with age and not updated, and half your friends are a different gender now and so much happier and maybe you are too, and you know who you are, and that it’s a journey and not a revelation. it’s a direction you’re headed, and you’re enjoying the trip.

reaching your 30′s rocks. and i’m hearing good things about what comes next, too.
