Growing up for Hollie Blight consisted of only one thing, being pushed around. She was a fish in a big ocean of sharks who decided to give her a chance and not make her that eveningâs lunch. No, instead, Hollie Blight became something equivalent to what Veronica was to the Heathers. Things werenât so bad, at first people just knew Hollie as âThe Kind One,â a nickname that followed her throughout her middle and elementary school days. For awhile, doing all this extra work was fine, but in high school Hollie realized what was becoming of her life. She was spending more time helping other people than she was doing stuff for herself, and it was all forcibly taking a toll on her. For the first time in her life, Hollie was getting angry. She started to snap back at her parents and friends, anger rising enough to boil - but never pop. Despite her growing frustration Hollie still found herself saying yes to those around her, figuring there was no way to escape the hole she already dug herself in. That was where the Radical Rollers came along, an all girls roller derby team. Consisting of Jackie Jackass, Kasey Kross, Lia Landslide, and Ella Mayhem - the girls enticed Hollie, and vice versa, and became close friends. Ella and Lia in particular took a liking to Hollie, taking her under their wing as she slowly rose her way up the ranks to become one of the better members of the team, and the sport itself. It was then Rigby Dagger was born, an extension of herself, she was Hollie Blight with bright red and blue highlights in her head and fangs shown to everyone who crossed paths with her. When Hollie could not say no, get mad, or take control, Rigby Dagger could do everything with an iron fist. While Hollie was known for speed, Rigby was known for violence.
While Lia was interested in Hollie for being a sweet girl, Ella was interested in her anger. She watched as the fire grew, fanned it, and started to withdraw the two of them from the rest of the Radical Rollers. Girlâs Night with Ella and Hollie became a normal thing, with the two doing nothing but getting into fights, drinking, and other reckless stuff. To them both, their actions had no consequences. That is until Ella and Hollie found themselves in a fight with one of their derby rivals, and Hollie as Rigby, hit the girl a bit too hard, a bit too long. She was long gone by the time sheâd snapped out of it. Terrified, Hollie assumed the worst, but was surprised to see Ella laugh. âWouldnât be the first time it happened,â she smiled with fangs showing. âFeels good, doesnât it?â Shocked by her own response to the murder, Hollie ran away from the scene and her friends at the roller derby. The past came to haunt her again in time though, as Ella knocked on Hollieâs front door threatening to expose her if she didnât help her out with one last murder. The target was familiar, as Russell Lawson was a boy Hollie knew so well. After every match, the Radical Rollers would celebrate at the Bowling Alley near the rink, the one Russell co-owned. The two fell fast, and being asked to do anything to harm Russell was something Hollie felt she could, for the first time, say no to. But Ella threatened to expose her to what happened to the one roller derby girl, and with that, Hollie knew she couldnât say no. Shortly after Russellâs death, Hollie couldnât stand the guilt that engulfed her and walked to Ellaâs house where the two got in a fight. With her hands on her neck, Hollie begged she kill her on the spot, and Ella obliged.
Hollie isnât sure how to feel about death, sheâs optimistic about the idea of a new beginning, but angry she didnât âget what she deserved.â Sheâs the same girl as she was when she died, but has become more distant from people. Most of all, Hollie wants to be a better person - one of her biggest flaws and greatest traits. She drives herself into doing the wrong sheâs done, something she loses herself in. Thatâs when Hollie needs someone to sit her down and tell her to stop. Part of her believes Russell is in Disgraceland with her, something she fears but wants. She still has nightmares about his death, but otherwise she refuses to talk about anything relating to her past and fabricates many lies in order for people to not figure her out. Sometimes she feels Rigby come out, wild, drive, and careless Rigby. But she refuses to allow herself to be the violent girl she once was. Sheâs not Hollie anymore though, at least, sheâs learned to say no and defend herself. The thing about Hollie and Rigby that is the same is their mutual love of skating though, theyâre passionate about it. If one were to ask Hollie/Rigby about being a part of roller derby, they should expect story after story about their time there.
