HELLO bug game likers it is me, the Bug Thing, here with a pinned post. Finally.
My name is Bugthing (or just Bug for short), I use he/xey/it/they pronouns. I Am The Bug Mod. This is a funky little sideblog I made over a year ago to post Hollow Knight stuff, but it has since evolved into Hollow Knight AND Bug Fables.

Hollow Knight: Twins of Void â Branch-off âwhat ifâ AU. Based on the concept of THK (Diligence) saving the Knight (Purity) from falling, unlike in canon. Shenanigans ensue. (To be reworked)

Loud, aggressive and a bit obsessive and self-centred. Often experiences intense mood swings, and tends to get violent when upset. Unfortunately is also very easy to piss off. I promise Iâm trying to work on that, I just havenât fronted at all in our therapy sessions.

Born and raised in the hyper-religious kingdom of Pharloom, and spent most of her life there. Throughout his life, he was forced into a feminine identity by the Grand Mother, as was his elder sibling, Phantom. After they were banished to Bilewater, She doubled down on making Lace as much of a âgirlâ as She could, giving her a stereotypically feminine figure and raising the pitch of her voice, which led to a lot of dysphoria. Was rescued by Hornet and Holly during the events of Silksong, and chose to leave to Hallownest with them. Heâs much happier now, but still has⊠plenty of issues to work through.
She is very skilled in combat, specifically in fencing. During battle, he relies on his pin and centuries of knowledge, and almost always comes out on top. Unless sheâs for-real fighting Hornet.

lace, while hornet refers to her as a child, IS NOT A CHILD. neither physically nor mentally.
hornetâs nicknaming her as âchildâ is purely an insult. lace is a grown woman, honestly probably centuries older than hornet.
lace was made to be fully dependent on GMS. she is a victim of possessive abuse by her mother, NOT A CHILD.
also, you canât tell me you havenât seen grown-ass middle-aged men act like spoilt kids. adults can be just as, if not more childish than some actual kids.

Hey, I was wondering if The Hollow Knight has a fandom nickname, like how the Knight is "Little Ghost", doesn't seem fair that they're just called a title that emphasises their emptiness
Half-Wyrm, Half-Weaver spider, and current Queen of Deepnest.
Currently doesnât have any particular interest in pursuing a romantic relationship, and that likely will not change.
Usually stays hidden away in her den in Deepnestâs Royal Village, but occasionally visits the surface town of Dirtmouth to check in on her sibling.
Resentful, bitter and stand-offish. Hardly ever leaves her den, almost always staying closed off in her chambers, only ever leaving to either check on her older sibling Holly, or to hunt for food. Although she is Deepnestâs Queen, she doesnât really consider herself such; after all, nearly the entire population of her kingdom was destroyed by the Infection, so whatâs left for her to rule?
Lived in Deepnest until age 6 when her mother Herrah was sent to rest as a Dreamer seal for the Pure Vessel. Spent ten years living in the White Palace, until the Infection began to return, at which point her father Chrysanthus left her to care for the kingdom herself as he went into hiding. Lived across Hallownest for the next fifty-odd years up until Hollyâs escape. After theyâd recovered enough to function mostly properly, she and they left Hallownest together in search of another place to live. Some unspecified shenanigans occurred that brought them to the decision to return to and remain in Hallownest.
Battle-hardened and merciless, she uses whatever tools she has at her disposal, typically relying on her trusty Needle and Soul-woven Weaver Silk as well as throwing knives to combat enemies.
An important part of fighting against AI is to engage with artwork that can't be made by AI. Sing with friends, go to live concerts, make handcrafts, see a live theater show. It sucks that there are certain artforms--digital art, writing, recorded music--that can be easily faked by a machine, but there are still artforms that you can know aren't from a machine because the people are right there in the room with you. It's imperfect, it's amateur, it'll never get a huge audience, but it's also local and personal, and that's something beautiful that's much harder to corrupt with machines.

i remember seeing a post analysing laceâs demeanour (or something like that) and they said âsheâs a child in the same way an abuse victim is a childâ
like, GMS intentionally made her weak and childish so she would have no choice but to depend on her mother, which is also a common tactic in plenty of abusive relationships of any kind â making the victim dependant on the abuser to keep them there as long as possible.
GMS wanted a daughter that would be loyal forever. a daughter that could never leave her. so, she made a weak, childish thing that would have to depend on her for survival.
in conclusion lace is definitely an adult, but sheâs a survivor of horrific possessive abuse and is childish both mentally and physically because of it
