Darkthrone
lines that Brendon Small actually wrote into Dethklok songs:
“Open your textbooks and turn to the chapter concerning your death”
“Break your face with a stale ice cream cone”
“Die [x30]”
“RSVP please / for the death of thee”
“One two three four / five six seven eight”
“You are a mistake / you have sex with cake”
“I’d rather you be dead than consider not opening up a restaurant”
“I am be angerous now”
Dethklok (Brendon Small) // The Doomstar Requiem: A Klok Opera
Released: October 27, 2013
Label: n/a
Fave Song: Abigail’s Lullaby / Some Time Ago... / The Duel
OH MY GOD.
Where do I even begin?
This entire Metalocalypse series is an excellent satirical exhibition; and to top it off with this first-rate album?? *tears streaming down my face* MASTERPIECE
This rock opera follows Dethklok following the crazy events of season four as they try to find Abigail and Toki after they were kidapped by Magus and Metal Masked Assassin. The tracklist is as follows:
1. The Birth / Fata Sidus Oritur / One of Us Must Die 2. Magnus and the Assassin 3. Partying Around the World 4. Tracking / Ishnifus and the Challenge 5. How Can I Be a Hero? 6. The Fans Are Chatting 7. Abigail's Lullaby 8. Some Time Ago... 9. The Duel 10. I Believe 11. A Traitor Amongst Them 12. Training / Do It All for My Brother 13. Before You Go 14. The Answer Is in Your Past 15. The Depths of Humanity 16. Givin' Back to You 17. En Antris et Stella Fatum Cruenti 18. The Crossroads 19. Morte Lumina 20. Blazing Star (Virtual writing credits: Dethklok) 21. Doomstar Orchestra
This album was a visual and musical treat for Metalocalypse fans. However, despite my obvious bias the album lacks the grittiness and vocal prowess that has been demonstrated in previous Dethklok albums. Sure it makes since that they had to tone it back when it came to the ability of the average viewer to actually comprehend what they’re saying, but I’m not complaining. It makes for a great sing-along album for car rides.
After this album, I was left craving more: music, blood and guts, season five so I can find out what happens to Murderface... among other things. I truly enjoyed this album and I can’t wait for new content from Brendon (Galakticon II being the most recent).
The Claypool Lennon Delirium // Lime and Limpid Green
Released: August 4, 2017
Label: ATO Records
Fave Song: Boris the Spider
Most of the time I listen to artists based on their style or popularity. Sometimes, I like to listen to an album based purely on the cover art. This is one of those times.
Starting off with the cover art: the mixture of lime green, black and dark turquoise truly capitavated my soul. In my personal experience I don’t come across a lot of albums with this color scheme, so I was immediately enchanted by its cosmic array of lime and limpid green. I fell in love with the evolutionary chart at the bottom of the album. Suggesting that man, once a complex organic being, could eventually loose what makes us human, turning us into cold-blooded machines moving toward the enivitable destiny that is our own obsolescence. Or something like that. I just liked the toaster.
This is my first exposure to The Claypool Lennon Delirium and I’m really digging their energy. My first thought was “Oh this is new and interesting! It really has a 60′s space exploration almost twilight zone vibe”, but after a few seconds I realized that this was a cover album. Lol silly me.
The track list is as follows:
1. Astronomy Domine (Pink Floyd // 1967)
2. Boris the Spider (The Who // 1966)
3. The Court of the Crimson King (King Crimson // 1969)
4. Satori (Flower Travellin Band // 1971)
I don’t take back what I said at all about the vibe of this album. It really does put me into an otherworldly mindset. All of the covers were taken from bands that were popular in or around the 60′s, which explains the old school feel. However, this string of covers has a transcendental air to it that I just can’t put my finger on.
TL;DR: An album dedicated to giving a fresh futuristic vibe to some old school classics

Interview with Corey MF Taylor on Upcoming Album
Read the full interview here: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/major_slipknot_album_update_16_songs_are_written__are_very_very_iowa-level_heavy.html
“I have fantastic news. Some of you know, but I’ll just make it official right now: we are working on a new album.
"It’s only in the demo stages right now, however we have very serious, tentative plans - and I say that because the best way to make God laugh is to announce your plans out loud - to go into the studio at the beginning of next year and get this fucker going.
"We have 16 songs written right now, and they are fucking dangerous. I loved ’.5 [The Gray Chapter],’ but this album, to me, makes ’.5’ look like nobody’s business. This is ‘Iowa’ levels of heavy.
"And I have to go out and tour this shit at my age - I can feel those songs in my back! I am really, really excited about it, and I talk to the guys in Slipknot all the time.
"I talk to Clown either every day, or every other day. I’ve been talking to Jim, V-man, Jay, Mick, Craig, Chris, Sid. We’re all really, really, really excited about this stuff, and it’s coming together really fucking well.
"So be prepared for 2019 - which, weirdly, is the 20th anniversary of our first album. Shit’s about to get fucking real again! So take that as you will.”

OTEP // Sevas Tra
Released: June 18th, 2002
Label: Capitol Records
Fave Song: T.R.I.C.
I was in 2nd grade when this album was first released sixteen years ago, however I was twelve when I first heard about Otep:
Friend: “This chick screams like a man” Me, the only band I’ve ever heard of was Linkin Park: “Bullshit”
And thus my obsession with Otep began.
I’m hella hyped for Otep’s new album, KULT 45 though. Just pre-ordered the Gold variant vinyl today that’s supposed to release on July 27th. I’ve always had Otep on my digital playlists, but I’m stoked to finally have a physical album in my possession.
