Most immortals become the angsty “everyone I have ever loved is gone” kind of immortal. You, on the other hand, instead took it upon yourself to be a loving presence to entire generations of your chosen family, because they are descended from someone you once loved long ago.

wild how people refer to tmi as the incest books when the entire thing was a master plan created by their evil supremasist father to make his children feel like they’re monsters in order to maniplate them into thinking they don’t deserve to he happy (“to love is to destroy”) and should totally stay with him instead and caused everyone involved suffering and pain like babe. i dont think the narrative wants you to like it
exactly. tired of people not getting the point or deliberately making fun of it.
rip michael, nora and leopold from the talk of the town (1942), you would have loved challengers (2024) 😞🙏🏼 (also this screenshot that i took is quite calm compared to all the beautiful things they say to each other)

back in my sdmi era and feeling emotional about them bc the curse had destroyed all of the groups before them and mystery inc was the first group to break the curse... they watched every person they knew and cared about get hurt–and even die in the end–and they had to persist, they had to survive, and the only reason they were able to push through the fear and the pain was bc of how much they loved each other. their friendship was their strength and it was what saved them.
even in an alternate timeline in which the curse never existed and nobody else knew what had happened, in which they had "perfect" lives, they chose to stay together and leave those perfect lives behind to continue solving mysteries together and that makes me so :( like yeah they really will choose each other in every lifetime.
one of the main reasons why i love this version of the gang is because of the emphasis that it was made on their friendship and how important it is for literally everything that happens in the plot... if they didn't love each other as much as they do, there wouldn't be any mystery gang to begin with. they choose each other over and over again.
