“[Amor Prohibido] is a song that’s on the album. It is a song that was written about my grandmother. And it’s, uh, if you listen to the words it’s talking about, my grandmother had fallen in love with, uh, back then in Mexico, [my grandmother] was a servant for this family, rich family, with him back then, well even now, a lot of the societies don’t mix. The poor and the rich, and she ended up falling in love with the son, they end up having a child and something happened with it, he got gangrene, but he got shot in the leg or something and he wrote a letter to the family but they never liked her because she was a servant. And this is a true story, but anyway to make a long story short, ah, this is what the song is talking about, that it doesn’t matter what society you come from, that love is what counts.”
