theyre younger than 21 so its considered underage drinking which is illegal in the US, might explain why kates hiding it, strict parents create the sneakiest kid and a great liar who is better at hiding secrets, same goes for abusive parents IMO so 🤷♀️ (the fact that they arent perfect characters and hv flaws, it gives so much realism that i find quite appealing)
nathan appears to rely on drugs or both, while kate seems to turn to alcohol(and drugs??) as a coping mechanism (personally i dont think kate is on drugs and her being ok doing that, it doesnt seem to add up with her character at all…or maybe im just projecting)
