the thing is there’s no reward for suffering. you go through things and its hard and you struggle but at the end of it all no one pats your back and says well done. there is no award, no compensation prize, no medal, no recognition. you have to wake up and go to work and live your life as a normal person and that’s it

there are rewards for survival though. it’s subtle, but the sunsets get prettier, the smell of the grass, the connection you feel when you look into the eyes of the people you’ve since grown to love. it’s something you have to look out for, but it’s there.
