random question , what made you start liking this ship ? i 'm kind of curious ... i totally see their dynamic , they 're so sweet and match so perfectly !

Not random at all! 💖 I don’t recall the exact origins because it was five years ago now (what the hell??) but I can try and rummage through my brain.

I think it was looking at the interactions and the idea of Leo/Need interacting with Shizuku is what made me consider the possibility of the ship in the first place. Because at the least, the two most definitely knew each other to some extent within childhood and likely got along then, just like the rest of the band.

Then the idea of:

“Oh, Shizuku (in a way) has some of the same struggles as Honami. That’s kind of sweet,” came.

Then:

“They definitely talk a lot of the beautification committee, so most likely they have a ton of shared stories and overshared a few times.”

Then:

“They have similar traits but are different enough to be two different people, and their flaws and weaknesses complement the other’s strength extremely well.”

Then:

Yuri Crack 9000™️.

Then:

“ShihoHona is also a really popular ship for good reason. That would be interesting if Honami had an unrequited love towards Shizuku while Shiho liked Honami... She would likely notice Shiho acting a little bit differently towards her, and then she would feel intense guilt for not reciprocating those feelings and purposely act oblivious while accidentally hurting Shiho without realising it. That would be a crazy arc for her to navigate— if it’s okay for her to be selfish or if she should continue suppressing her feelings for her best friend’s sake. Headcanons of my beloveds. Honami has WAY more self projection onto her since I relate to her the most and we’re both practically the same person— buttttttttt still her own person.

One thing I really enjoy about ShizuHona is the natural angst potential. Drabble below.

It creates almost a “love triangle” esq situation between the Hinomoris and Honami— with Shiho crushing on Honami and Honami crushing on Shizuku. In my head, Shizuku notices when Honami starts acting different towards her, and when Shiho starts becoming more distant to Shizuku and Honami… but Shizuku doesn’t act on it. Rather, she waits for the right time. She doesn’t exactly know her own feelings yet, and choosing to pursue Honami will hurt Shiho, but turning Honami directly down will hurt her (and conflict with Shizuku’s own feelings towards Honami).

So she waits. Things could resolve naturally possibly. Making a choice means hurting, but if she waits… then just maybe no one will get hurt.

This is similar to how I think Honami would pursue Shizuku— doing everything she can to get close to her but never outright declaring anything because choosing also means hurting Shiho.

Shiho subtly shows her care and love to Honami, even when it grows… but when she realises Honami stares at Shizuku the same way she stared at her? Yikes.
