Look, I get the whole ‘let vampires fuck.’ I even get in on the jokes sometimes, but I agree with having the sex drive being non-existent for kindred at a lot of tables.

I’m guessing most of the people on here weren’t tabletopping in the 90s or early 2000s, but me, and a lot of people were. VtM was actively trying to pull female players into the game with using female pronouns in the books and such. So, us girls (I was a young teen with an older brother, so I at least always had a guy with me) would show up at the comic book store (shout out to TBS comics!) and sit with strangers, some of who were young adults, to play.

I get VtM is a more adult game, but these were different times, and pretty much no one was turned away from the table. The ‘no sexual desire’ thing literally made my tabletop experience more enjoyable, unlike DnD, where I was always getting hit on, especially when I was hitting 16/17.

Nowadays, a lot of people play online, but playing with strange men in a comic book store was the norm for the times. It’s a good optional rule that should stay for people tabletopping in person. I’m almost positive it’s because of that rule that I am more attached to VtM rather than DnD.

And! We need cashiers. And convenience stores. And I think it's kind of broken that society says people who want to do stuff like that have "low" ambition (not you OP, I get you're using it illustratively because that's what society labels said jobs) and don't deserve to live at the same standard as people with "high" ambitions.

If we need someone to do a job, that job is a role in the community and deserves not just a salary but cultural respect for the role.

"high" ambition jobs are all jobs that involve domineering and controlling others. "low" ambition jobs are all jobs that involve service to others. Have you noticed? Because I have noticed.

But serving others is actually more needed than controlling them.
