Does Nicki Minaj's Son Have Autism?
Nicki Minaj, the queen of rap, has been blessing fans with adorable snaps and videos of her precious son, affectionately called Papa Bear. Born in September 2020, this little bundle of joy has captured the hearts of the Barbz worldwide. đźâ¨
But hereâs the tea: some fans (myself included đ) have started to wonderâcould Papa Bear be on the autism spectrum? Now, before anyone gets their wigs in a twist, let me say allegedly! Iâm not a doctor, just a curious observer sharing what Iâve noticed.
Hereâs why I think this could be a possibility:
â¸Â Heâs 4 years old and doesnât seem to talk. While every child develops at their own pace, most kids this age are little chatterboxes, stringing together sentences or at least a few clear words. Yet, in Nicki's videos, Papa Bear appears to keep his thoughts to himself. đ¤ In one particular clip, he doesnât say any words, and as someone with over seven years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum, I couldnât help but notice that the sounds heâs making are pretty common among children who are neurodivergent
â¸Â A little stimming action? Maybe. I have noticed this clip where Papa Bear is joyfully banging spoons together. While this could just be a kid having fun, itâs also a common way children on the spectrum self-soothe or express excitement.
â¸Â Eye contact? Not really. In the few photos and videos Nicki has shared, Papa Bear rarely looks directly at the camera. This could mean absolutely nothingâor it could be a sign of sensory differences. Mind you, there are pictures of Papa Bear looking into the camera, but anyone who has worked with children on the spectrum knows thereâs a distinct difference between a child intentionally making eye contact with the camera and one simply looking in the cameraâs direction or you happen to catch a quick snap of them finally looking into the lens. đ
Now, Nicki hasnât spoken publicly about any of this, and letâs be clear: thereâs no official word on Papa Bear being autistic. And even if he is, it wouldnât make him any less of the perfect little star he is! đ
What do you think? Am I reaching, or is there something to this? Letâs keep it classy and respectful while we speculate, Barbz! â¨
(Allegedly, of course. đ)
