also watching jjk at the recommendation of some friends, and gojo and aizawa remind me a lot of each other (in terms of power scaling). like im sure there are going to be fights that gojo conveniently can't be at bc he would just solo it no problem, like how horikoshi had to leave aizawa out of the kamino fight and also nerf him.
turns out, in universe, the power of "nanana can't touch me" and "I can turn off (most) powers in universe" are a bit *too* convenient sometimes.
a fun way I make mha ocs (especially as side/background characters): pokemon moves!
Most charas only have a basic quirk, which works well for pokemon moves that typically do one thing. I have an OC hero in my "happy sugar life" au (which will one day see the light of day) who's power is essentially trick room, she changes the speed of all people on the field (fast to slow and vice versa) and one of my barely mentioned underground heroes in up and coming verse is literally just based off the Pokemon move anchor shot.
It may not be as viable for more complex characters but for background ones it's an easy way to diversify the quirks present without having to think too in-depth about it.

'Hitoshi stared at the security camera in the corner of the room, the red eye blinking down at his spot from the floor. He winced as he shifted, back pulling uncomfortably where the man had touched him. He didn't know what he had done — maybe some sort of fire or pain quirk? — but it felt like he had been ripped apart.
After the man gave his intructions, he had tossed Hitoshi into a different room, an empty one except for a single chair in the corner. The room was dim, dimmer than the hallway, and it took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. The duct tape around his wrists pulled painfully, rubbing red welts on his skin.'

Does making a queer character straight for the sake of a ship fall under the "do what makes you happy" thing? Or would that be homophobic somehow?

but to make it super simple, do whatever you want forever when it comes to fiction means do whatever you want forever when it comes to fiction.
these characters are not real people. they don’t have lives or feelings. make them gay. make them straight. make them a predator. make them dead. make them a mermaid. what tf cares? they are Barbie dolls. they are toys you play with in an imaginary sandbox. the only cop that can arrest you is the imaginary cop in your head.
headcanon/au: koda & Izuku friendship
I imagine after graduation, Koda would go to college, studying animal medicine and behavioral stuff. He can communicate with animals, but he also wants to understand their unique physiology.
I imagine Koda as more of a hero that shows up after disasters to help with clean up/rescue, using trained animals like sniffer dogs and rats to find victims in rubble/avalanches/etc. He's strong, but he's not primarily a fighter, using his strength to help move rubble/debris. He teams up often with Uraraka for this reason.
For his friendship with Izuku, I imagine that after graduating he takes some time to go to college as well, getting a more advanced degree in quirk studies. He knows that his body is pretty fucked from the abuse that he went through during the war, and while he does want to be a hero (and will! I refuse to believe that quirkless Izuku wasn't a hero), he also realizes that if he wants to try to not completely (physically) break down, he's going to have to take a more support/intelligence roll like Nedzu. He can still fight if necessary, but until he gets his support items (my headcanon is the HSPC drags their feet on this. He's a war hero, but he's also quirkless now, and they're conflicted ab that) he sticks towards more background support with strategy, coordination, and negotiation (at least until he gets his suit, which helps with his injuries).
Now, for their friendship. Its a big headcanon of mine that Kodas primary job when he's not doing rescue work is working with/on a quirked animal sanctuary. He can help the team communicate with the animals that may not be able to understand them (seeing as not all quirked animals would have human level intelligence), and during one of his last years of college, Izuku goes to intern on the island. They bond over their love of animals/quirks, and after Izuku graduates, he still keeps in contact with Koda and goes to the island when he can to help with quirk related matters.
Friends help each other in everyday things...

this is such a wild framing of that event. the way no one even remotely considers the idea that it was them chaining up and muzzling a child on national television. like yeah, i agree, it was stupid to have the sports festival after the USJ attack because it meant literally broadcasting the names and quirks of every student in the hero course to villains you KNOW are okay with attacking them, but nedzu and the teachers act like the flaw was mostly in bakugou and the mistake was giving him the opportunity to act out.
like we are focused on the wrong thing, i fear. yes, im sure bakugou caught the villains' attention because they assumed he, like them, felt restricted under the rules and pressures of hero society, but i'd honestly be willing to bet that none of them would've bothered with trying to recruit bakugou if it weren't for the fact that they saw yuuei treat him like a villain. like hello what are we talking about right now

Whumpees who were terrified the first time they were kidnapped vs it happening so many times that they can predict everything like a soap opera.
They go from: "Please don't punch me D:"
To: "Oh really? You're gonna break my nose? Come on, I haven't been able to smell for years, what are you gonna do? Make me self conscious enough to give you the information? Think bigger mY GOD" as they're slowly wriggling free from the bindings.
(No, it doesn't get easier for them. They just get better at hiding it.)
i do kind of wish that kota was allowed to dislike heroes. like i think his arc of learning to respect them and deal with the grief of losing his parents without blaming them is fine, but also he's a kid :') and i think he should be allowed to distance himself from heroism because he feels like his parents prioritized risking their lives over taking care of him
shota hawks being bought by the commission not just for his quirk, but because of his looks as well. he becomes the personal stress toy for his handlers as well as the commission president herself, and employee of the month is allowed one private night with hawks (with the only stipulation being no visible scars/permanent damage).
they love watching him squirm as they play with his wings, overstimulated and sobbing. madam president even will loan him out as special incentives to specific heroes or political people in turn for info/favors
OR
madam president doing inspections on hawks to make sure that he is still "pure" before selling his virginity to the highest bidder right before he debuts.
