personally, i trace the demolition of the wall between actors and fandom to meshit (misha) collins pandering to supernatural fans.

at a con years ago, he brought up fanfiction and the entire audience gasped. he said (i'm paraphrasing), "i know, you're not supposed to talk about fanfiction. but i'm going to talk about it anyway."

since that time, questions at cons have devolved into questions about ships and everyone looking for validation from the actors. meshit continues to pander and queerbait to his fans. they turned into entitled assholes. and now infect other fandoms.

for me, this is where it all started.

I like Sam more. What weird thing do they think I have going on? Like I like characters who has darkness in them somewhat still try to be good. I like someone who goes all grey when someone they love are in danger. Dean wasn't someone who would cross the grey area and he mostly hasn't. Most of the time he hurts himself to save Sam. Dean not saving cas is out of character??? He would be making deals with rowena?? Jack?? Since when?? Other than sam and his mother, when has he ever made deal? When has he ever tried to bring Cas back from anything? Hell, he even tried to save Jack, even that for Sam's sake. Other than that, he has never tried to bring anyone back from death. Atleast sam tried to bring Eileen. Dean doesn't seem to give much fuck about anybody but Sam. Mary, he tried but when it didn't happen, he let go. Sam, he never let that go.
