“Do not look for healing at the feet of those who broke you.”
— Rupi Kaur, Milk and Honey (via rupikaurpoems)
I am chronically ill.
I am allowed to rest.
I am allowed to sleep in.
I am allowed to cancel plans.
I am allowed to stay home.
I am allowed to take care of myself.
I am allowed to complain and talk about it.
I am allowed to feel things about my illness.
I am allowed to be chronically ill.
…and so are you.

Reblogging to include Two Old Goats Essential Oil Cream.
I know most people avoid essential oil stuff, but this cream also contains birch bark oil which is a great pain reducer on joints and muscles. On bad hand days, this stuff works quickly to take the edge off of the pain while I wait for medication to kick in, and it reduces swelling around my knees and ankles when they become inflamed.
Being a spoonie means going from “Wow, I really could build a life that would work for me!” To “Fuck I’ve been pushing myself too hard and now I can’t get out of bed and am questioning if I can even keep up with what I had going” in like, 12 hours.
