but the translation has always bothered me. ymmv but "none of your business" always sounds harsh and if not slamming then it's at least firmly shutting the door in your face

but what he said was 跟你沒有關係

跟 with

你 you

沒有 does not have (a direct no would be 不)

關係 relationship

沒有關係 unimportant, insignificant

so it's more like

"it does not have anything to do with you"

"it is of no importance to you"

"you do not need to worry about it"

i guess to me the key difference is "none of your business" is telling Shu Yi to back off but 跟你沒有關係 is Shi De himself backing away
