The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.

Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.

No carb, engine don’t start. No protein, engine dies out fast.

I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.

Ok so roads are important infrastructure. A lot of stuff that's important happens on roads. Now, let's imagine that quadrillionaire Matt Stench has decided that the next big tech innovation is the Wide Car. It's a car that takes up six lanes despite seating only one passenger.

The Wide Car is supposed to be the future, and everyone's going to be driving Wide Cars, even though nobody who makes Wide Cars is turning a profit. Employers are offering Wide Cars as an employee benefit, and getting "nah." Some employers are going as far as demanding their employees drive Wide Cars, and the result is that people take time out of their workdays to get in the mandatory gas usage for their Wide Car before driving home in a regular car.

In spite of the fact that the Wide Car is clearly set to fail, there's an enormous push to expand to twelve-lane roads to accommodate a bunch of Wide Cars that simply will not materialize. This is not an organic response to demand, but a speculative investment that amplifies the existing issues with road development for no good reason.

That is the problem.

And people say we know nothing about Pomni's backstory or anything about Pomni as a person.

She is very strongly established to be a natural loner in her human life. There's a part of her that wants to connect with others, but she finds it difficult, and she believes that nobody cares about her and wouldn't care if she died. So she becomes bored with her regular life, and substituted it with her thrill seeking urban exploring.

So, in turn, she feels like she's nothing and that she's worth nothing.

And this is not me headcanoning any of this btw. There is subtext and straight up text in the show such as this to back up this characterization of her.

The nightmare she has.

This line.

When she explains her life in Episode 5 and during that she looks at the glass sadly.

When she asks Jax what she would do if she abstracted and the answer devastates her to a fit of rage.

Her initial disinterest to get to know these people.

Her initial disinterest in the world and what's happening.

This is very prominent characterization Pomni has throughout the entire show and she gets character development to move past that. Just because she isn't crying or actively trying to off herself doesn't mean she doesn't show signs of having depression. Depression is not that simple.

Since the beginning of the show for me this was very obvious. But oh I guess this was all too subtle for some people, so some people didn't pick up on it and were quick to insist that Pomni was just a bland audience insert 'we know nothing about'.
