!!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Right now students and teachers are being arrested left and right. These people are protesting how the President of Turkey nominated Melih Bulu (someone who previously served in the ruling party and has no ties to this university) as the rector for Bogazici University, a private university.

Bogazici University is known for having a left-leaning progressive student body and the government is trying to assert control over the students by putting his own men in there. Bulu as a rector has already taken steps such as banning the school's LGBT+ Studies Club.

They are now branding these protestor, these students as "terrorists". The government is especially now targeting LGBT+ people, saying that we don't exist. The police are very much openly targeting and assaulting people who are or support LGBT+ people.

I don’t know if anyone will be able to read this, but if you do, please spread the information. It is well known, that the polish government is a giant mess, slowly killing our society, democracy and culture (the info was spread thanks to the women’s protests, god bless you, may we continue our fight) What is new however, is that currently there is a law about to pass, that pretty much ends in censorship in our media. Unless the fucking duck, that runs this place is stopped, free media companies, mostly local ones, will die out, because of the new fees that are soon to be mandatory. Those fees will cost polish media up to 800mln zł, on top of the 1 billion they pay every year. This course of action leads to only political stations (like TVP info) staying open. The same stations, that fire journalists for taking part in our biggest charity action (WOŚP). At the moment of me writing this (10.02.2021) most of polish news internet pages only show the open letter to the government and to the leaders. I will later translate said letter, so everyone will be able to read that. Once the news pages are once again open, I will attach links to any articles, and translate as many as I can for wider audience.

As a Jewish person, I appreciate those saying that this is not okay and that it is misinformation. No, 6 million Uyghur Muslims have not been murdered.

And, as a Jewish person, I know that 6 million very well could be murdered. This is not another Shoah, but it very well could become another. As a Jewish person, I feel we must say “never again.”

“Never again” does not mean “this event was so uniquely horrible, it could never happen again.” It means “this event was horrible, but not unique. We have to make sure it never happens again.”

The Uyghur death count isn’t 6 million, that is misinformation. But “never again” means we have to make sure it doesn’t become 6 million.

If you are not Jewish or Romani, do not draw comparisons to the Holocaust. All that provides is shock value and misinformation. What you can do is support Uyghur Muslims.

It's not about which stories you don't agree with. It's about fighting for the women in the stories that you do agree with and the CHOICE that was made.

Women's rights are meant to protect ALL women, regardless of their situation!
