Niall Horan: Closer to the Light
@NiallOfficial: Who’s got a #FlickerWorldTour hoodie ? If ya haven’t, you can get yours here : niall.to/storeWe/
it has been an absolute pleasure and honour to watch Niall grow and blossom into such a wonderful young man. he deserves all the great things, he’s so humble and grateful and downright sweet. he’s making me so incredibly proud.
“Sometimes a good live performance is simple and nothing but a man with his guitar is required to imprison an entire audience. Niall Horan is such a case.”
— Niall Horan, Great Vega, Copenhagen, Out of the 1D shadow (via flick-niall-er)
“His voice is completely clear and actually sounds even better live.”
— Niall Horan, Great Vega, Copenhagen, Out of the 1D shadow
6 months of Flicker 🙌
Shortly after, the lights finally went down again and all it takes is for Niall’s band to take their position for the whole venue to explode in a massive roar which managed to get even louder when Niall himself struts on stage.It was obvious the Irish singer was immediately comfortable in front of such an audience wearing a massive smirk as he took in the love the fans threw at him.Opening the show with his latest single, ‘On the Loose’, oddly enough, it took a while for the whole crowd to really warm up and be as loud as they used to sound during a One Direction show.
But fairly speaking, the atmosphere was completely different than it used to be. Niall has an incredible talent both as a musician and singer songwriter and the maturity and musical growth achieved in the last two and a half years since his boyband went on hiatus was totally visible.Horan constantly repeated how humbled he is to be playing an incredible venue such as Brixton Academy; it is particularly special to him as he has had the pleasure of watching some of his favourite gigs from that same floor fans are now watching him in adoration.
He really took the opportunity on this run to reintroduce himself to his fans and to a more mature audience demonstrating who he really is as an artist. He fearlessly played a cover of ‘Dancing in the Dark’ by his all-time favourite Bruce Springsteen to then smoothly going back to his own bangers like ‘Seeing Blind’ and the more intimate and emotive ‘Too Much Too Ask’ which seems to be a fan favourite.
Niall Horan is entertaining from start to finish, offering countless surprises along the way.
He introduced the album title track by saying that “Flicker means a hell of a lot to me and I hope I never ever get bored or sick of it” so he asked his fans to put away their phones for the following three minutes to truly enjoy this romantic tune that fully showcases his ability to write poignant ballads.As if this show could not get any better, Niall also decided to play a song, ‘So Long’, which he admits he regrets not putting on the album. “Until last week, I had never played the piano in front of any people. Ever. But I wrote this next song on piano so I thought I should put it like this on the set”.
Niall has a fantastic combination of charisma and genuine wit that makes it impossible to dislike him. Both fans and Niall enjoyed every second of this night.
So the night, which constantly alternated ballads to more up-tempo tunes, ended as a massive party, letting the audience go home with the sense of who Niall Horan really is: a 24 year old proudly Irish pop-folk songwriter who has been around the world more times that one can count but that somehow still manages to remain humble and true to himself.
One can only expect a massive and long-lived career out of such a genuine artist as Niall Horan.
Making fun of girls who dream of being a wife and stay-at-home-mom actually doesn’t make you progressive or feminist or cool, it just makes you a person who shits on someone else’s dream, a.k.a an asshole
I WILL ALWAYS REBLOG THIS
Always important to remember; the enemy of feminism is not a particular lifestyle, the enemy of feminism is to not be able to choose.
