This time last year I had a bald head due to chemo treatments for breast cancer. It was a trippy year learning to navigate a whole world of medical activities I had never known about and that so many people go through every day.  It taught me a great deal of humility, compassion and respect for our medical professionals. What they do everyday is amazing. I learned to confront mortality and what life really means to me in real way and it was intense! What got me through it all has been my loving family, friends and community. Whether you knew what I was going through or not, your love and support continues to be healing and inspiring. I did yoga and breath work every day while going through treatments and that taught me how we are all one and connected via the most tiny atoms. As I look at life now that treatments and such are over, I can only say Thank you  Thank you and Thank you to the universe. Gratitude and love flows through us and connects everything and everyone within our life force in the most beautiful way. I made this diamond encrusted peace sign art today in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday while listening to Activist and lawyer Bryan Stevenson speak on his work defending the poor, incarcerated and condemned, highlighting how much work needs to be done to create real justice in terms of equal rights for all in the US.
