James is the name. Let's not waste any time, m'lovelies. Form an orderly queue and I'm sure I can get through you all by the time I get my gorgeous ass out of here.
I'm a returner or whatever you wanna call me, so I probably know this place better than you. Don't try and trick me, it doesn't work.
You could answer my question about how youâre doing. Because, of course, I totally actually care. Though a tune on the piano would also be acceptable.
Well if it isnât my favourite pianist. How ya doing, Kurt? The other place couldnât handle all this so they begged Second Hope to take me back, of course. What else?
Guess whoâs back, bitches? Thatâs right. Your one and only James Hoskins has returned to Second Hope after his little vacation. I know, I know, you all missed me but Iâm back now to save you all from your dull, dreary existences.Â
WHO: James Hoskins
WHEN: 28.02.2016
WHERE: Second Hope
WHAT: The time has come for James to leave Second Hope.
We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. ~ Walt Disney
James had wanted this to be a quiet goodbye. Heâd said goodbye to those he felt needed the personal touch, and posted about it just to let people know and now all that he needed to do was pack the last few things, drop off a couple things, and heâd be good to go. It was barely half an hour on the day he was leaving before he had his room looking scarily empty. There were no cupcake drawings, no pictures, none of his things. It looked as bare as the day heâd arrived, save the bag he had on the bed ready to be taken and the few bits and pieces siting alongside that he wanted to have the nurse hand out once he was gone. He wouldâve done it himself had he had time, but after a brief check of his watch... he knew he didnât. The car would be here in ten minutes.
So James stepped out of the room, bag hanging from his shoulder, the other items bundled in his hands with labels written with marker pen on stickynotes. It felt ridiculous, but what else was he supposed to do? So once he got to the desk and handed them in, he quickly shot the receptionist a quick note about being careful with them doso it didnât get mixed up, then turned back to hdead out.Â
Before he was hit with arms wrapping around him and had the desk not been there, he wouldâve fallen flat on his back.
What followed was a goodbye with Mason that James was very nearly in tears over. It was like James was clinging to him more than the reverse, not wanting to let go of the place that, as much as he swore he hated it, heâd come to call home. But he had to go. As soon as a nurse came to collect him, he had to say his goodbyes, an d with a small âLook after yourself, okay?â To Mason, he followed after her.
Getting into the car was the hardest part. sitting in the backseat of some fancy mercedes car that smelt of pine from one of those tree-shaped air fresheners and with his bag sitting in the back, clattering around as theydrove over bumps. It was then, and only then, that he let himself cry for the first time.
[Text] Motherfucker. Were you going to tell me? [Text] Wait... no. You were coming to tell me, weren't you? You never fucking come to see me without texting. That's... that's why you were there. [Text] Nevermind. I'm the motherfucker.
[text] And the bomb drops.
[text] Yeah, I was coming to tell you⊠Pretty much as soon as I knew I was coming to tell you and then you did that. You tried to fucking kill yourself, Riley, and Iâve gotta leave without really knowing if youâre even fully okay.

[text] Sam? He wonât talk to anyone I think but heâs... I donât know. He didnât cry. He didnât panic, I donât know whatâs going on with him...
Youâre never gettinâ rid of me. I mean that. Iâm literally never sayinâ a proper goodbye to you. No matter what happens, youâre my best friend. The end.
Other notes: James tells Niamh heâs leaving Second Hope. TWs added as needed.
NIAMH
It had been a long few days. Niamh hadnât spent nearly as much time in her room as she was used to, and the lack of sleep was starting to get to her a bit, but she felt like she had to be available. And strong too. Strong most of all. When she recieved a text from James, she was surprised. They hadnât talked much since the break-up, and she wasnât sure how comfortable things were going to be between them, but when he asked her to come to him, the answer was an immediate yes. Making her way to his room, she knocked softly before sticking her head in. âAngel?â Entering the room, she closed the door behind her, forcing a smile. âHey.â
JAMES
James spun around from where he was looking over some of his stuff, working out what he was taking with him when he heard the nickname heâd grown so used to. âNiamh, hey...â He answered quietly, biting his lip for a moment. It felt like ages since heâd seen her... and the guilt was sill there. He tooka breath. âHowâre you..?â
I have to, buddy... I donât really wanna go either, but... yeah... You know I told you about my dad all that time ago? Well, uh... He... He knows where I am. And heâs trying to get to me so they said theyâre gonna move me for safety. But we can keep in touch, right? Texts and stuff.
So, a couple people know already but this is my official public announcement or whatever... Iâm gonna be leaving Second hope in a couple days time. Iâm not allowed to say too much about it or where Iâm going, but short version is that itâs not safe here for me anymore and itâs not beneficial to my health to be here. So uh, thanks to those that actually put up with me all this time and to those that didnât I offer you a full and heart-felt âscrew youâ, and maybe Iâll see you guys on the outside one day.
