This is not even in the top 1000 things wrong with the episode, but that mention of Cortland Mayfair was absolutely rancid.

#as someone who has read both the vampire chronicles AND the mayfair witches #and even managed to make it through season one of the mayfair witches show #this was an absolute mind boggling choice on every level #ESPECIALLY when the producers spent so much time patting themselves on the back for making it clear david talbot wont be in the show #(which for the record i do this was a good choice)#and EXTREMELY bizzare for a season that is spending so much time trying to reckon with the impact of incest in Lestat's own life #This isn't even close to as bad as what happens in the rest of the episode but sure did set the stage for the bafflement and disappointment #that was to come #iwtv #the vampire lestat

I didn't know you could fuck an entire show up that badly, in so many ways, and in that amount of screen time.
